Never done them before, whats the best company to use?

Exactly what do they tell you?

they tell you about the history of a car, whether it has ever been stolen,crashed,had plate changes, has finance owing etc

they basically give you all of the information you could ever need, to not get stung when buying, i would not buy a car without one again.

i use www.autocheck.co.uk you get 5 checks for £25 quid, which you can use in a 60 day period i think.

Cheers, does it show you the Chassis number of the car?

So it doesnt show you the VIN, and tells you not to buy the car until you have confirmed it...

Not great..

But also not bad for a fiver

it asks for reg and vin before you start the check, if you don't have the vin at the time you can check it afterwards.
