go to court
admit you were doing the speed you were doing
explain extenuiating circumstances
don't wear flashy bling
don't wear a loud suit
shirt and tie
get your hair cut
etc
most of the time the judges have already mde up their minds, but you have good and bad days, fingers croessed you have a nice judge but be prepared to get a bus pass because it looks like you might be fooked

Also depends on the magistrates. My Dad was doing 60 in a 40 and pleaded guilty so they gave him FPN and 3 points.

Theres all sorts of things to consider. What time was it, was it near a school around breaks/dinner time, were there shops around or was it on an open round with no corners, wide pavements, crossroads, junction nearby, was it kick out time at midnight etc etc.
Every case is different, which is why court is needed to judge each case. Id just admit and i wouldnt make excuses for it as that will get you a ban for sure.
I know a few people who have been very lucky in the past, one of which was doing 75 in a 30 at 2am and got 3 points and a £100 fine. Although the police were informed as soon as he got home as someone was chasing him with a car full of idiots trying to steal his car.
As said though, nothing you can do now so no point in worrying about it mate.
Make sure you get a proper letter on headed paper from your employer to say you need your license for work, or better still, get your boss/manager/supervisor to come to court with you and explain in person.

Doesn't look good bud.
If you're in your probation period still and you get pinged 6 or more points for this then DVLA will revoke your licence. You'll start again with a fresh provisional, retake a theory (get it booked asap because you keep the same driver licence number ) and then a practical and then you are off again on a full licence, how long you are off the road all depends on how quickly you can get the tests passed!
If you get banned at court then you (probably, as I understand things) won't get any points and as soon as your ban is up you're back on the road with a full licence. There'll be a fine as well but a ban and a fine is a MUCH better option than the cost of the retests, being without a licence and then another 5 years of stupid insurance.
There is a significant difference between having your licence revoked and being banned as I found out when DVLA revoked my licence when I was 18 (and stupid)
Best of luck to ya, say the right things at the right time to the right people and you might just get lucky on the day. Admit you made the mistakes and take your punishments and learn from it!!!. Be prepared for the worst though!

i hope it goes ok for you mate some magistrates will listen to what you got to say and some of them want cere they will say you broke the law and thats that so take your punishment and thats all you can do

Being banned is the worst option. You legally have to declare a ban within the last 10 years (I believe it is 10 years, someone may be able to correct me though).
To find out, log into somewhere like confused.com and build a quote for a car with 3 points, and with a ban. Then see what the difference is

a lad i know has had his licence revoked for doin 60 in a 40 zone, he got his provisional back within 2 weeks just passed his theory and hes got his practical in a couple of weeks. if he passes he would have been off the road for only 6 weeks, not really punishment, i have just come off a 6 month ban for going over 12 points.

You won't necessarily get your licence taken off you, my mate got caught speeding twice in his probation period and kept his licence, If you passed less than two years ago you might not have to take the theory test again as the certificate is still valid unless they void it.

Our Uni housemate did 103 in a saxo 1.1 (god knows how) and got 6 points and a fine...no ban. It means retaking the test....but as he had no ban he could do it as soon as...so you never know!

1, be thankful
2, you don't get points for a parking ticket (unles it's on zigzag lines and stuff)
3, learn your leasson, it's going to be 4 years till you are "clean" so make sure you learn to drive properly, and that means keeping your eyes on the speedo as well on the odd occasion
well done lad, welcome to the real world of getting caught by the short and curlies and living for years with the stigma of getting done for speeding
4, don't get down the pub and get drunk now either, you've got work in the morning
