Anyone good with home pc's??
I want my home system to be wireless, so today i brought a router, model is -BELKIN ADSL2, with a built in modemwith G plus MIVO, now its says I need to connect it to my laptop but in the instructions it is saying that I need to connect it to another pc or laptop to allow my laptop to go wireless,

You can do it as i have just a router and 2 laptops...mine is a netgear which is the one to get i believe for ease of setup someone more technical will explain im sure, but you need to plug router in and then install software on laptop...you then log in to the router through internet explorer with a address like http.192.168.0.1(netgear address but yours will be in manual or on bottom of router with password etc) and then you access the setup and settings of router

Im not tecnically minded with computers but this is what you need to do
1-plug router into mains and connect to phone
2-install any software that came with it onto laptop
3-turn laptop wireless on
4-connect to router with the software provided or internet explorer address normally printed on bottom of router.
5-even easier is to use a cable to connect your laptop to the router and then when sorted, remove cable and then connect wirelessly

I was also worried like adreneline ka when i first bought my router and read that you need a base unit to connect router to,and then connect laptop...but after consulting a professional, they explained how to do it i think routers are notoriously difficult until you get the hang of them

Have you read the instructions?
what model is it, and version number - on the bottom of the unit? (I take it you meant MIMO not MIVO?)
What ports are in the back of it, and what cables came with it?
Do you have an ethernet/LAN port on your laptop?
The address you are probably looking for, as per Mark's post is: 192.168.2.1

WEP is the wireless encryption protocol - have you set it up? - you have to have a matching key on the router and in the laptop's wireless settings.
Have you read the manual yet?
