Ah, so it is, im not on here often enough to read every thread so hadnt seen it.

Only X amount of traffic can be handled by any given website configuration.

I am involved with development for the www.toyota.co.uk site, we have a massive infrastructure as you would expect of a large commercial website and yet even still we have struggled on occasion with traffic when we have had popular above the line advertising campaigns and web adverts at the same time.

Yep, ive been online loads since, but havent had enough time to read every thread, so I just open the ones that sound interesting.

Would have thought it was a simple concept to grasp that people dont have time to read EVERY thread posted at any point before they were online

If you have the time to sit and read every single thread ever posted on here, then I suspect you are well in the minority, I consider myself someone who uses PF a lot, but I havent even nearly got enough spare time online to do that!

No that wouldnt be a natural assumption given that Ive just started a thread about it after seeing it on a different forum, if I had seen it on here, I would have replied to the thread on here instead, so the very fact I didnt is proof I saw it somewhere else instead.


I dont know of anyone who reads every single thread on PF, so I fail to see what is so amazing about that comment that it qualifies as your quote of the week, but as you seem to be fascinated by me, perhaps I have an unfair advantage in your selection process.

I pop on here what I consider to be very frequently during the week, but its not even close to enough time to read every single thing on here.

 

...Lynne please dont forget he is part of many other forums too,so to expect him to read every thread here is a tall order...there just isnt enuff hours in a day....i heard on the grapevine that he is funding a project to make a clone of himself so he can occassionally leave the keyboard.

 

If even Phil can grasp that I dont have enough time (and more importantly of course inclination) to read every thread on here, it shows how simple the concept Lyyne cant grasp actually is

Feel free to take over this one Simon, it cetainly doesnt interest me very much, as soon as iv finished my work in a little while I will be redoing the gear linkage on my car and then checking over the fuellign on my mate's glanza he has just bought, which is the sort of thing I choose to do with my spare time, not sit on forums, I only ever normally do that when Im stuck in front of a PC for some other reason and want to kill a bit of time!

What I cant figure out is why Phil and Redkop are on here so often when they have the luxury of free time they could be doing something so much more interesting with my job requires me to be in front of a PC, but fuck doing it for a hobby.
When im old and retired like Lynne, or if I ever become an international playboy like Phil, I cant see me choosing to be on forums very much.
