I had a guy offer me an Evo 5 in PX for my M3 Cabby also on Ebay - great cars and deffo a possibility.

I've seen 6's like that go for 8-10k minimum, some even more. Makinnen (sp) ones as well as RSs seem to be 10-16k.

Looks really good that one - mileage is sensible too.

Take a look on www.lanceregister.com in the cars for sale section for a price guide - but I'd suggest that is a fair swap. Better link here actually: http://www.lancerregister.com/forumd...?s=&forumid=15

I think if the Evo is in good nick that would be a really good deal if you could do a straight swap!!

although saying that, the drivers side bolster does look very worn for a car thats supposedly only done 39k.

Yes Butch, watch out for the AYC that can be a problem on the 6`s, plus the drivers seat looks quite shoddy just for 39k

Servicing can be exspensive, BUT as AJ, Lynne will tell you, if you go to some of the tuners i.e CPP, RC, MAD, you won't pay as much as main dealers, check it's had belt changes etc, standard discs are the WORST in the world....

Apart from that they're a cracking car, very very capable cars Evos.

Ask what has brought the power up to 340bhp as the few mods he's listed won't bring it up to that.

Standard bhp is 276bhp

I wouldnt buy it full stop sellers name is shabaz khan, the drivers seat looks like its done more than 39k imo. I'm not racist but when it comes to second hand jap cars i tend to stay clear of the asians as in my experience of dealing with them a lot seem to be semi traders and dodgy ones at that

With the exhaust he's got on and the induction kit i wouldn't of thought that would of taken it past 290-300max, you never know with them though, i remember speaking to Sheady about this and he said lots of the Evos that come/came into the country when dynod as standard made 300 or there abouts anyway, ( when supposedly they shoulde be 276)

As for a nice little mod, you can have a Ecutek map done, or if you want to go abit further Autronic is VERY good, i had this with Anti-lag, MORE EXSPENSIVE , but if you fancy BIG bhp down the line atleast you have the ECU. Gearbox will cope with 450 bhp as standard, engine standard i'd sya 400 would be MY limit, some have run more RICH W, ran 420+ for a few years, it's up tp you tbh...good car though..

Fook, i'm knackered now...

he said he has some history for it and its an import, and he said it has had a remap, intecooler, and induction kit which has taken it to 340?

I imagine it would be an EcuTec reflash http://www.ecutek.com/ would probably have more power if Autronic, Gems or Motec management had been used.

Phone up Xtreme and ask about the car if they have recently serviced it.

It's not a Ralliart car then if it's an import. Only the UK cars are Ralliart. There's nothing wrong with an import anyway.... as all Evos are imports in reality . Mine is a grey import too, but was imported brand new by the previous owner.

Butch, ask him what remap it is and who did the work.

You'll always tell an import by the fog light at the bottom of the bumper, UK cras had it IN the bumper, but just to confuse you, SOME people did have theres relocated there.

How the fuck is it racist, i'm going from past experiences of buying and selling cars mainly hondas and all the experiences bar 1 was a bad 1. Its commen knowledge in the honda scene that 9 out of 10 hondas being sold in yorkshire by asians are ropey as fuck and sold by semi traders outside there house's. Its not racist i've had a lot of bad experiences with jap cars and asians so now i wont even bother going to look at them, just like if i'd been to see the same amount in say liverpool i'd just give up on viewing in liverpool

Does it matter though if he is a trader?

Hell Stu bought his Evo off a trader, albeit not an Asian one!

IN MY EXPERIENCE they buy sheds cheap spend minimum money on them to make them LOOK decent then flog them on to some numpty. Its not exactly the same buying from some bloke off his drive who sells tarted up plop as it is buying from a GENUINE trader is it. The ones i've met are not exactly in the motor trade if you know what i mean

Alps,

given that an EVO is made in Japan (part of Asia), therefore it's been designed and built by Asians, why are you not warning the thread starter to avoid ALL EVO's - regardless of whoever is selling them?

what alps has said has been taken out of context i had the same problem when i was looking for a 306 hdi there was a couple i had seen in the trader advertised as private i got there and the guys were fooking traders just not legit traders and thats was 4 out of 5 i saw in one day and all were asian guys and all the cars were crocks too not as advertised etc

L8 ECU

Different asians though aint they, its like saying all europeans. Plus comparing someone who is trying to fob a cat c right off as a genuine car on his drive way and knowingly deceiving someone is different to buying a car from mitsubishi. I dot just descriminate agains asians seling shit i generally dont like imports in general.

Fact is i said i would go and see it cause imo it wuld be dodgy as he was an asian and i turned out to be right. I'm not saying every asian that is selling a car is dodgey cause its far from it but what i am saying is I ME wouldnt go look at them cause 9 out of 10 would be a waste of my time so i just steer clear now cause its easier on me and the seller.

You were sticking up for this tit and calling me racist and i was right. I have said on this thread that not all asians are dodgy traders but EVERYONE i have met and viewed there cars were blatently dodgy traders. You missing the point though as al the ones i have viewed were NOT traders just people who buy shit tart them up and flog them on as private people so legaly there not a trader but they do buy cars to sell on.

I'm speaking from personal experience, i've seen enough to put me off, thats not racist its just using my head and learning from the past imo

39k and the seat bolsters worn like that??? LOL who's been driving it? Rick Wallah?

I dont think anyones being racist in this thread. It's an observation i agree with, and in fact my INDIAN friend (probably best friend) says himself that many of the asians in his area (bolton) will rip you off when doing a deal as soon as look at you. It's not that they're necessary bad people, it's just how they are, how they do things.

Of course there's alot of white muppet traders too, i've met a few lol.

when i was looking for an evo an asian guy had one for sale and said as far as he knew it was hpi clear.it was a silver 39000 mile car with apparently all original paint.

turned out it was cat 3 months prior, and had a recorded mileage of 70000.

same as everything though you have to be careful, especially with m3's/subarus/evos and even cossies
