My 2wd is now NO wheel drive, pulled away at some lights (really gentle i might add) and i heard a clonk and now i aint got any gears

Wont be first time diff went. Cant imagine box though.... easy way to know which what i dont was put it in first great and get out of the car with engine running

WTF they look like they have just come out? HAs its taken of the threads in the diff?
Is it only on the one side? If so check the other side!

there looks tobe lots of iron fillings etc...around that area imo, the bolts may have been moving about for a while and then just come out.

looking at the bolts too, they look like they have part of the threads on them.

Just looked at the threads on the bolts and they look clean,
The shaft they bolt to on the diff, is this easy to remove with diff in place.

its quite common for the bolts to come loose
i had this on most of the sierras ive had and always check them every month just to be safe
at least it happened as you pulled off and not at speeds
should be a cheap fix mate if the threads are intact
you can take teh diff out in situ but its a bitch if the top bolts have seized

just pull the bolts out and put them back in using locktite.

I find it amazing how all the bolts could work loose and then still be in the driveshaft, oh well will investigate more later on.

Was on about if the threads have gone on the bit that the bolts attach to m8.

bolt it back up again
if the threads are fooked you can just pull the back plate off the diff and pull the pin to release the stub shaft

Bit of luck mate.
Well the fuel pump is all rewired on my car now, had 11.3v at the pump when i started and now have 13.26v
Also fitted my GrpA coil at long last.
