Default Hammerite Paint won't dry

Hi All,

Can you help me please, I'm currently doing a resto on my Series 1, I've done all underneath in Hammerite Smooth (White) all over is perfect apart from the front seat mount areas and the box section near the front of the car, it just goes tacky and will not dry, it's been tacky for 1 month!! any help whats wrong? all in all it's rouhgly 2% underneath that won't dry!

Had you cleaned underneath properly ,common problem is grease or oily substance under the paint

Yer I think it's reacting to bare metal,gonna try sum primer first and see then ,it's only a very small area causing trouble

is it in a very dry/warm sort of place as it may be getting damp at night??

It's in my garage, the rest has cured fine, somethings deffo not right

as twins says, you probably have grease or oil under the paint. Best bet is to remove the paint form the ares, good old scrub down, then repaint

Tried this already, used sum proper bodyshop wipes etc still no luck

spray a bit of primer on it then, and see if it dries

Yer I've just got sum Hammerite primer, applied it and awaiting to see if it holds this time

I found with hamerite that if its spread too thick, it wont dry !
