Default Flood damaged cars

How many cars are going to be up for sale that have been flood damaged and being passed off as normal

Even if owners are paid out, surely once the cars get sold on to breakers many will be classed as cat C's / D's and will be polished up and sold on

Not as bad on the recorded ones IF buyers can find out what happened to them, but if they think they are buying a light bumped car, when infact it has been flooded, that can't be good.

Plus, many may not be claimed on and just be sold on

There's loads coming through the salvage yard near us. Some are break only cos of the state they got in, others not.
At the end of the day they're on the register if its through the insurance so you pays your money etc

my mate bak in 2002 bought a 1998 740i for 8k which had crashed into a pond and had new engine, sold it 6 months later for 12k

last sep i drove my work astra van thru a ford and it was knee deep at the back of the van and even deeper in the middle i made it 3/4 way thru and conked out

hydralic lock to fuck. next day AA man took of hoses and intercooler and water gushed out

took each glow plug out and turned over and was like a geeza abroad

squirting better than a porn star

still works till this day, no probs needed new air filter etc

im sure head gasket may go sooner than it would have done but lets wait and see

A mate of mine has just bought a MINT Mk2 Escort RS2000 for £1500 because it got damaged and consequently written off by the floods in Sheffield.

He's chuffed to nuts because he will likely keep and cherish the car for a good number of years, plus he's a mechanic by trade so can get hold of all the parts needed to replace (I think the only think that was affected was the carpet, big deal!!!)
