Go along to your local Ford dealer and they can build up a new lock matching to the key number of your car, take the keys with you obviously so they can read the number off it, cost around 30 quid IIRC

If its the drivers door lock thats difficult then its worn washers inside the barrel and needs replacing, if its the pass door then its prob sticking due to lack of use and might come good with a lube with WD or spray grease.

Or pm me your key number (or a photo of the blade part of it) and I will send you all the tumbers and clips required to rebuild it as I used to rebuild them for the workshop when I worked @ a Ford dealer.

P.S. you can get me to send them to a work addy. if you want for security so I do not know where the car lives. I know there are some dodgy people around.

Do NOT USE WD40 or similar. The tumblers are greased originally and all you will do is wash the grease out and they will wear quicker than ever. Best bet is to retumble with new inserts and coat with a moly-grease when reassembling.

If you decide to renew using a Ford rebuild kit, you will need to know anti-clockwise or clockwise locking if it is an early car as the barrels are sided.

If yours is a pre-1993 model, the finis numbers are:

clockwise locking: 6527294
anti-clockwise locking: 6527295

post-1993 model:

drivers door: 7069551
passenger door: 7069552

does not matter on later cars (post 1993) about clockwise / anti-clockwise locking
