mine was done with a brand new late 2wd head i,m sure the casting id is CB , Tony at turbosystems said the late 2wd head was perfect for the job so that was what we used, the engine was also run on nitrous giving up to 675 bhp with no problems at all

my car is running a very early standard 2wd head(on last skim),the one with the smaller washers on head bolts
but when/if the head gasket goes in next year or so i have a late 2wd mint head, freshly skimmed etc just waiting to get flowed and polished for my next upgrade
i really dont want to take head off unless it needs to the now though only done 3k since build last year

4x4 has two stage thermostat and improved cooling over 2wd but either will do the job no worries mate
My head was done by Rick Wood at CNC and seem to perform pretty well.
you going for big valves?

Id use the head that has the most meat on it....(Head Depth)....Pointless spending big money having one fully ported if it's already on it's final skim.
Both heads are capable of producing the same power.
Get someone to check out both heads and measure them, and then check for corrosion in the waterways.......whichever is the best head, use that one. It don't really make any difference which one it is, just the best one.
