looking good euan,surely it will hit 500 atw,was it not 480 odds with the t4?

Are those vents/cut bits on the turbo open into the housing itself? Does this stop/reduce surge? or is it just to look pretty?

i dont think they are to reduce surge as surge is caused by the engine not being able to flow the amount of air that the turbo is pushing, are they more like for better spool up Euan?

Big turbo on a small capacity engine though, surge will be an issue? surely? Lokos the tits either way

Euan, who did the plate for you? I really want to find a way to mate a YB to an E36 M3 box ( i think also getrag). Any ideas?

i never said there wouldnt be any surge mate i dont know how this engines going to perform with this new turbo im sure Euan will let us know as and when

Cant wait for the daddy thrash, was discussing it while at AVA yestereday and we were all grinning like kids

ColdoThe holes in the compressor has the ported shorud(holes) to reduce the efficency of the compressor and help reduce chances of surge due to the housings being mismatched.

Charlie Chalk Usually mid November

Gatecrasher Hard to tell with power...I would say 500 ATW is 550 fly and closer to 600 on dyno but others would say more I reckon.

JjCoDeX75Tom at AVA made the plate mate.

Fitting the M3 box is bit harder as the bell housing isnt detachable from the box but I think it can be done as we considered it for mine.

dovboywill need to get you out in it mate...dont think it would be too impressive up KH?

euan,if not at the hill just let me know the next time you go to one of those monthly meets and i will take a drive through with my shonky transmision

i have about 1k set aside(dont tell my soon to be wife ) for the box and clutch and your set up sounds great,hate the speed of gearchange with the t5 anyway and dont want to go strait cut.

I thought the holes on the snail were to HELP combat surge (well thats how ATP in the US market it anyway - Anti Surge ).........

But if the compressor housing is too big for the engine to consume the air it is shifting, it's exactly the same thing .
