i think its fair that you cant show your car on there stand - maybe they dont like your chav/text chat!!

join up and support your local group.

We have to pay for the priviledge, so i think others should as well

Join your local regional group..... ours needs more members

It might seem poo but tbh theyre trying to make money, nobody should be allowed a free space imo

To be honest, this is the same as saying...

A guy bought himself a parking ticket today and had teh cheek to moan when i wanted to use it instead of him.

They ahev PAID membership for that Plot, why should they give you a free slot?

You said what i wanted to say

We have to pay to be in the RSOC etc, and its all part and parcel of being in a regional group

it bugs me the pure amount of non attending members who come crawling out of the woodwork purely for the nearest show.....

You should support your local group at every show, not just the local ones imo

Its cheeky to even think its plausible to expect a free stand space

Plenty other ford based sites that do the shows would be glad to have you if you have a nice car You may still have to pay something or make a donation but your not forced too

Take a look in the shows and meet section Nikki is always squeezing people into strange places

thats why its a show run by local groups for local groups to attend
along with visiting car clubs

if we let everyone who was not a member on a display we could not get moved in the show area

join your club and no problems

other car clubs will be the same

As long as your a member of a local group, you can have your car on the stand ANYWHERE except National Day. To be on your club stand at national day, you must be a member of the National Club.

Local groups have to give priority to paid up members.

If a regional day organiser allocates a visiting club limited space (Say room for 10 cars), then the paid up members must take priority...

a few years back, members took priority
if a member dropped out and no other members were able to take the space, then it was offered to non members

this isn't the rsoc though so their practices may differ, but i can't see why they would give you a space over and above a piad up member if there was a line of them waiting to fill the slots

I'm the other way round: a member of RSOC but not my local group. I'm not allowed to be on thier stands so have to make alternative arrangements: 25th RSOC Anniversary S1 car @ Lightwater Valley, 25th Ann stand @ ND and last year I organsied a non-local group stand at ND. This year they have taken that on board and created parking area solely for RSOC members.
This year I will be on the S1 display as organised by the registrar.
If the local group don't want me on thier stand I'll find someone else who will

*I must point out I have no problems with my local group: it is purely the fact I pay for RSOC membership so don't think it's right to have to pay for a local group as well. Some are free or cheap, but my local group is small and therefore is another Ł10 per year on top of RSOC fees. Plus I'm a member of a non-RS local car club which I pay fees for every year to get to non-RS shows.

Glen, you dont have to be in the National club to go on a stand ,but its only fair to join the local group who`s stand you want to go on .
Which is i pressume the Tyne and wear group ,as you were at there last meeting too.
As far as i know you didnt mention going on our stand at our meeting ,???????????????????

tbh i think thats right.if you pay a membership for something you should expect to be able to show your car at the shows.
why should someone who pays miss out because there is a car on the stand thet isnt a paid up member.even if there is space and a member hasnt got an rs or ford i think they should be allowed on as long as they pay a memebership but not if there are other rs/fords that want to be there instead.

join up mate or speak to nikki from on here and she maybe able to sort something.

you dont need to be a full national RSOC member to be in a local group, only if you want to put your car on stand at national day

and for the Ł30 imo you get not a lot, a rallye news 3/4 times a year and a stand place at national day

if it wasnt for the fact you get a stand place at national day, we wouldnt even join

RIGHT HOOKER well in that meeting we had at the last tyne n wear meet rsrach said that u had 2 join the national rs club 2 put ur car on at national day n im sure she said the same for croft 2. I know of a few lads who wud like 2 show there cars at croft. So if we cudnt get on with the tyne n wear club i was thinkin about phoneing the bloke who sorts out the stands at croft n just get some lads who come 2 the scotch corner meets n get there cars on at croft.

top and bottom of it is that local groups should not charge membership fees, our group does but that does not mean i agree with it

i think its unfair to join the rsoc then have to join the local group as well so you can get on a club stand

think of it like this

the durham group have a meeting ( the group is endorsed by the rsoc ) and then a member comes along and brings a mate with him

the mate joins the durham group and not the rsoc national club

not really fair on the national club is it ??

i think you should join the rsoc and local groups should be free as they used to be years ago then u could attend meetings where ever you are

just my opinion

Glen ,local groups are "encouraged" to get new members to join the Main RSOC but it is in no way compulsary.Unless that is what the Tyne and Wear group have decided..
COS 22
Charging for local groups is purely so events ,and days out can be organised by the Committee`s,our secratery has paid over 200 quid in the last year or so to pay for a monthly news letter. The main club dont subsidise it ,so who will ,.??
Our local group fees.
