Default bonnet fasteners

i'm gonna get my 1600i resprayed and it needs a new bonnet and tailgate,i was thinking while i'm at it i might aswell get fibreglass ones to lighten the car up a bit and make a little less work. The only thing is i'm not keen on the bonnet pin look as it's not a rally car.
1>has anyone got any pics of alternative fasteners on a car?

2>Do you think it would take value away from it ie:not original ford ,ruining a classic car etc..?

You can get a Flush fit lock, which is Chrome plated and quite nice looking. Its made by Grayston. Will try and find some pics later.......

My fibre glass/carbon bonnet for my S2 had bolts moulded in so you can use the original bonnet clip...

Try MC Rallying over here...

they said at MC rallying that because the fibreglass is lighter it would get lifted and flex with only the one original clip?

Well take it from me I ran all the way up to Trax and back again at 90mph+ and didn't have any probs with it lifting...

If you're really paranoid about it you could always attatch a bungee cord to the bonnet, I know it won't look pretty but no-one will see it

Would devalue it IMO as 16i's are all about originality. However they are worth relatively feck all, so , do what makes you happy.....but show is some pics of it!
