Nice project, not bad looking for a competition car either..
600bhp 3litre turbo, 6speed Getrag box, engine moved back 8inches, tubbed front and rear arches, custom bulkhead ands transmission tunnel, mentally trick suspension, v-mount intercooler, 12x19 (yes, seriously) rear tyres, etc etc...
Built from a 100% standard S15, pretty much everything custom done, mental amount of work. Can wang up build pics if anyone gives a damn.

Its not finished yet actually by a long way, but looks a bit special already
Roof scoop is to get air in as technically you not allowed to open windows in competition, there are fans in the back to get the smoke out as well as fans for coolers etc.
There are mega trick touches like metal lips inside the wide arches to stop exploding or delaminating tyres wrecking the rear arches, which is very common.
Its a Toyota Supra engine in this rather special Nissan too...
Build pics...
Bulkhead? Where?
Floorpan? Where?
Engine+Box
Tubbed fronts...
Transmission tunnel...
Entire car stitch welded...
Engine mocked up...
Kit on...
Serious rollcage...
Cutting the shit out of a mega expensive carbon bonnet to fit the v-mount...
Shell painted...
Umm, yeah, thatd do, my hands hurt...

Hows the V mount work then? air passes through the bumper and gets pulled into the intercooler by the vacuum created by the bonnet?
Also i thought seam welding was stronger?

V-mount works with proper ducting, nothing more fancy really.
There reasons to stich and not seam, what they are i dunno.
I know for a fact people go way OTT on seam welding on cars and gain nothing a lose a lot though, more isnt always better.

In some occasions more weight over the front wheels seems to help reduce understeer, in others it seems to increase it.
Main thing with a straight 6 instead of a 4 is the extra weight is further forward than before, now the front of the engine is in same place as stock.

Testing the future
of course you want the engine moved back in a drift car - like any other car you want the polar moment of inertia to be as low as possible so that you can change direction easier
