Wouldnt be too bad if you could spell the name properly,
But as its been so long since the crash and people have moved on, Heres a little history leson of whats happened since then,

Phil Immy Boschman has ventured into the outside world.
Chip has eaten a salad.
Cam has fucked off
PF has become the new haven for BMW owners.
AJ has stayed small
Simon Secs has stayed a cunt.

At the speed involved, just because Martin is composed and well in that vid, doesn't mean he didn't escape death by inches.

Porkie too, I remember the pics of the exhaust that had come up the side of the car in in the passenger window.

One of the most shocking and lucky-to-escape car crashes I can ever remember seeing.

Think he done his septum as well, might be wrong.

Reading through the comments page on that link, do you have be a jealous, sad, and boring person to post on there?

I know if I was involved in that crash or one similair I would not like people bringing it up time and time again. Altough I didn't know Phil Collins races cars now is funny.

I was for 4 months with a back broken in 2 places. I was off work for 6 months, lost a fortune and neraly my job.....

I had to have 6 nurses roll me over and wipe my ass ever time I wanted a shit for 3 months and learning to walk again was pretty traumatic...

My back hurts ALOT every day...

so yes, it was quite a big crash for me...

AND we were incredibly LUCKY... all along that road were trees and rocks.... SOMEHOW we managed to find a soft field to roll into... A field that had enough give in it that when I flew out of the car and the car ROLLED over the top of me I was lucky enough to only brake my back and not be totally squashed....I will NEVER know how I survived that crash. Ever.

I went in the car for the first time with Martin again yesterday.... it brought back alot of memories and I don't mind admitting I was properly scared! Mind you.... Going out with him for the first time in the GATEBIL Extreme RACE was probably not the best move! Most powerful car on grid had 1700bhp.... think we had least with 700bhp

Lee, although i dont know you, i do feel for you with what happened (and Martin of course)

had a kind of similar accident myself a few years ago, thrown thru the sunroof of my first escort cossie as it rolled, only to be pinned underneath it when the car came to rest upside down across my head and chest, again the fact the ground was soft and uneven is what saved me or id have been squashed to certain death.

but it can get irritating when people continuously bring it up over and over again

Trouble is mate, when you take part in things like the gumball, and when you are already fairly well known in the RS world, people get put on a pedastal..

I'm just glad that they both got out alive, everyone can make comments about bad driving/ shoulda done this shoulda done that blah blah blah, shit happens, no-one means to crash, and happily no one got killed - It is a grim reminder in a way of how careful you have to be and how fast things go wrong Glad to see Porkie can post about it in a positive way, I think everyone on here( and most modified car owners) felt shit when the news broke about the crash

if F1 / WRC / any other breed of motorsport drivers can crash, as they do often, I don't think you can really pick fault in anyones driving lol 90% of people have had a bump of some sort at some time the ones with the biggest mouths are usually the ones who know the least

btw on a similer note i see lee at the essex meet a few short months after the crash,,,, honestly the man looked PROPER healthy considering the stuff that happened to him,,, apart from the robocop back brace he had on there was fuck all you could tell

he was still the same shy bloke he was the first time i met him a few months before

what i mean is he came out and looked like he had a small back imperfection but still looked a very well and heathly bloke,,,,, he looked no different either

he should be looked at as a inspration from that view that he can have such a thing happen and bounce back in practically record time !!!

ive ALWAYS admired lee for that

Well.... I was always a very live for the moment guy anyway. But yes it did change. I really live for moment now as you just never ever know.

Live is sooo short and sooo precious!

And I REALLY don't take my health from granted not being able to walk was horrific. God knows how disabled people cope.

Actually, I doubt Martin or Lee would argue that statement to a certain extent, im sure their opinion is that the car is far better than Martin is, at the end of the day he is a tuner not a race driver.
I doubt Martin would argue that someone like Gareth Lloyd couldnt do a better job of piloting it.

The reality is though, the sort of accident they had, wasnt really about car control skills anyway, when something goes wrong at that speed, its all down to luck how you come out of it really IMHO

I have seen some awful carnage in my time as a firefighter the Reyland crash is horrific due to its nature anything that involves a role over is bad news and at speed almost always result in serious injury/death due to the damage caused to the internal organs smashing against bits of skeleton!

They are both fortunate to be alive brings into perspective life and what it actually means to each individual
