Just about to purchase my new headgasket from France....I have 2 uprated thicker headgasket options.....

I was wondering if anyone can tell me the effect on compression the two options would have...

Standard figures to aid calculation if poss....

Bore / Stroke - 88 x 82
Compression Ratio - 8:1
Standard Headgasket Thickness - 1.75mm

My options are 1.9mm or 2.1.

Can anyone help please?

Right.....

The 1.9 mm gasket will drop the CR to 7.91:1

and the 2.1 will drop it to 7.797:1 (call it 7.8:1 )

Reckon the 2.1mm sounds like a safer bet, more boost!!!

 

and i managed to managed to do all whilst on the phone to my wife who says our baby is on its way!
