This went round in an email a few months ago, in order to provoke reaction, and is reportedly from a BNP source.

The facts of this story, whilst correct in that the muslim community would like to build a large mosque, are incorrect in that it wont be costing the taxpayer a single penny.

This information is readily available on the internet if you care to look, although it's far easier just to believe a piece of propaganda based on lies.

If you have a problem with the muslim community building a large mosque for reasons of your choosing then feel free to protest but do it on those grounds. However, please don't start promoting BNP propaganda and asking others to do so too - it makes you look very silly.

 

And you arent at all worried that what you have "put up here for people to see" is in fact a completely incorrect account of whats happened, written no doubt by a member of an extremist group to stir racial hatred?

I personally think that such an enormous statement of faith of one particular derivation like this is a potential eyesore on the london city horizon as well as being a bit too "in your face" for other faiths, I know we have st pauls catherdral for the christians but this sounds like it would eclipse even that, and that was built at a time when the country was much more aligned in terms of the god it worshipped etc.


So my own view is that its potentially a bad thing, although on the other hand it will bring many jobs to the area, and will attract foreign tourists as well, so economically it is pretty much undisputed it will BENEFIT the british tax payer NOT cost them anything.


So protest against it by all means, but dont talk absolute bollocks that makes you sound like a braindead bandwagon jumper when you do it

As I said before, then you don't sign that petition.

If you don't want it, for whatever reasons that might be - traffic congestion, visual impact, not liking brown people, then you protest based on those reasons - not on the back of some BNP nonsense purely because the end result might be similar.

My own view is that it isnt really the look I feel london should have, there are already a massive number of these buildings all over the city, and one thats absolutely massive and totally dominates the area around it is a bad thing architecturally.

Financially though, it would probably benefit the country and would certainly benefit the local community.


So basically I dont actually feel qualified to comment categorically on it as I dont have enough facts about the exact extent of the impact or the visuals of the place.
