got 25k to spend on a car, but i dont obviously have to spend all of it.

Pound for Pound i dont think anything gets near an M3 for 20kish, for looks and performance. A porsche comes close, but they just look very cheap.

Its purely a toy car, and i've toyed about other cars.

I.e leon cupra R, megane Sport 225, focus RS.

If its purely for a weekend car, then i wouldnt get a Ł20k M3 mate. Youll lose too much money on it and it wont really be justified if you dont use it that much. An escos sounds like a good option to me.

As much as i like M3's, I cant see one giving you anywhere near as much exitment on the road as an escos for a weekend car.

If you spend Ł25k, you'll get it back when you sell.

It may not be as fast as a tuned escos but they're different, look like a supercar [they were when they came out] and handle amazingly

IMO a normall 996, i.e 20k ish non turbo looks cheap inside, and the outside just doesnt look anything epsecial atall. 30-40k is a different matter and you can have a turbo etc etc.

100k in any sports car aint going to do it the world of good, as most of those miles will be med to hard miles if thats what the owners bought it for.

I may wait till the new E90 comes out and then decide what to do, but will buy a car in the meantime, be it an escort cossy or something else.
