Shamless plug, you'll need to make your own or get one like this as a cossie rear mount won't bolt up to the TVR box.

The tko in mine has been abusesd for 8 years & 30+k miles its bullet proof & has coped with 850bhp/750ft-lb with no problems, it will soon have a lot more Power & ive no doubt the tko will cope.
Have never missed the T56 6th gear on its pressent gearing 188mph in 4th & 217mph in 5th are more than enough. .

Hi Brom

the tko is a very good box no dowt about that i know that you know that

I know the T5's will always be second hand box

but thats the same as the Big tooth Mt75's that i get done and they seem to take the power ok with the big tooth gears

the standard MT75 a hell of alot weaker than the T5 anyway

you can do the the conversions for the TKO/T56 yourself but how many people will go that route when you have to mod it to suit ???

how long will they want the car off the road ??

if theres a product out there thats just a "straight bolt in job" exactly like the Big tooth MT75's do , why will it not work ??

33 mullit boxes sold and not one come back with any broken gears

i recon that this T5 will be awesome box once it off the ground

Ginge

we are not fly night just do a few kits and run .lol as long as the cossie lives wwe will still make the stuff for them

look at the fixit you cant get parts for it with the mullit parts ready available on the shelf if needed and we are here in the uk

every box we build its built to the higest standard bar none we fit all brand new sysncro's bearings seals what ever it needs to make it mint

turn around is pretty quick aswell normaly 5 working days not 5 weeks ..lol.

how may quaifes peeps have been waiting for parts of them bloody ages and to be honest quaife are not that strong they are just a slighty up graded form the normal stuff and the matrial of the gears isn't the best quality , im sorry but it's the truth of the matter ,

once you have got quaife stuff your lumberd with it

we are here to stay for good as long as king cos is on the road

cheers marco

marco you understand why i mention it

no company chooses to fold,,, but look at the secs situation,,, he was MORE than willing to get involved at the start then he started to loose sight,,, other companys too that are NOT in the car game

big companys help reduce the risk if that makes sence,,, just like the fix-it and quaife examples you gave

im mentioning what i guess others are afraid to,,, but the replies show you also known what your talking about to a person who may not know you from adam so its not me just slagging you off

im just being nosey and asking what others might,,, i know simon was MORE than happy with his one though and hes a good testing ground too

let me tell you something because you need to know we dont just do the ford stuff

we do alot of stuff for the top rally car teams , top people in the motorsport business you wouldn't belive , mits works cars/pat duran/will gollop ect

infact Will Gollop is testing our new hand brake realese sequentail 6box he been using it all season

close ratio
6 speed & reverse in-line racing transmission box,
max :800Nm/600ftlbs engine torque,
sequential dog clutch gear selection,(6 dog)
dog selected reverse ,
LM 25 aluminium alloy casing (magnesium casing available)
weights about circa 38kg
internal oil pump,
semi dry sump with fully intergrated oil distribution system
50/50 Torque split
Plate type center differential with adjustable locking effort
rear drive concentric with crank
front drive on right hand side assembly
input drop gear selection

shift race ratios

1st ...........3:1
2nd...........2.13:1
3rd............1.59:1
4th............1.25:1
5th............1.12:1
6th............0.96:1

options for this box

hydraulic handbrake relese
viscous coupling center diff
adjustable negative /positive preload adjustable center diff
Viscous/powerflow combination differential
rotary/potentionmeter/electronic gear indicator
sequentail hand set with reverse actuation
RZ5 magnesuim alloy casing Drop gear selections
ratio selection

if you seen this box you would shoot your load all over it

this is a brand new product i wouldn't even put this kind of stuff on here because not many could afford stuff like this

and the good thing about this box you can have it rwd or 4wd
it's compatable

it's easy to covert to rwd aswell as going 4wd all the parts are just bolt on

this box might replace the FFD

Has to be said, I have had a gearbox sorted by Marco and Co, cannot fault them on knowledge, workmanship, price or turnaround. Also good to know that they are true enthusiasts, not just out for a quick buck, .............unlike Quaife who turn out shite and people pay top money for chocolate gears ...

I will be interested in this kit mate, will have to see how my poor old T5 copes with 38psi of T4 abuse

Hi Lynne

thats shocking and appauling really is

well Lynne i hope Andy can try one of the ours free of charge of course

i honestly recon that this new Big tooth T5 will be a good product if the Big tooth gears in the Mt75 with 500/600 bhp can take a loads of abuse and not break , then the T5 with these type of gears should take a hell of a alot more torque/bhp because there isn't that much load on a rwd box compaired to a 4wd one

Marco can I be nosey and ask what you actually work at ?

Not sure if boxes or tyres or general motor trade related or something totally different.

Good idea the uprated T5 internals though, saves fucking around with tvr/jag boxes for not that much more.

It's understandable why Andy is pretty pissed off that third gear let go like that after relatively little use

im guessing the splines are different,,,,

just ask who ever gets the clutch to supply a clutch in what ever size with the amount of splines and your sorted

exactly that and it's slighly shorter box

you will have to get center part of the ckutch done and you have to mod the rear prop as the splines are alot bigger

and yes the TVR is rated at 400ft lbs it is strong t5

marco

i have a tvr T5 in my car and there are no clutch issues whatsoever.

yes you have to change the end of your prop and the tailcone and also the guide on the front of the box.

ideally with this conversion you need to start with a good tvr box and a scrap cossie T5 to act as a donor.

you also need to do something about a speedo drive as they are in a different place on the tvr box.

a sleeve fitted to the mainshaft is the option i took or you could install an electronic speedo such as the spa unit.

hi peeps

quick update spoke to the engineer tonight and good news he is going ahead with the big tooth kit

he has got the T5 in bits and looking to make his own bulk/syncro rings to match his big tooth gear for better gear change

he is also looking at custom selector forks or designed on the same but made in better metal

i have told him all the problems that the t5 suffers from which he is going to correct

thats the lastest update

cheers marco
