All i know is it is LEGAL to remove a clamp from your car as long as you hand it in to a police station undamaged.
All i think she will get is prob a caution for criminal damage and have to pay for the clamp

we cut one off sisters suzuki swift with an angle grinder - took ages mind. the police came to the office and went through the motions but the copper was laughing all the time and put the words in sisters mouth. her statement read 'when i returned to my car there was no clamp fitted'. this was true as she had not cut it off. end of story

20K+ Super Poster.
If clamper has no license to clamp, he is breaking the law you can do what you like, it is a GIFT from him to you, you could also seek costs from HIM if not licensed.
If he is licensed and appropriate signs were displayed etc then it is criminal damage.
As it has been a year you can assume he was NOT licensed, your freind has no need to worry as said too long ago as it is over six months, they woulkd have been spoken to well before the end of this six months, NO CPS would run it and no court would accept it.
You are quite at liberty to remove by ANY means an illegal clamp, if it becomes damaged, they would have to sue you for damages, which would not happen in a months of sundays.

i removed a clamp on an escos wheel by letting all the air out of the tyre, and a bit of dragging and tearing and it came off(no laughing ) a cop car just pulled up as it came off in my hand and they said leave it there and radioed the clampers, they came and took a load of photos and said id be fined 700euros for damage to the clamp, i didnt put a scratch on it!
last i ever heard about it anyway the cunts
was funny cos my mother was there and gave me a hand taking it off and was then giving out to the clamper fellas, who were utter pricks actually
