Good for people selling decent genuine cars, but bad for people selling sheds who lie that it went straight through the last test with no problems.
So it can only be a good thing surely.

I just checked my car.
Shows MOT history back to 2005. It failed on 2006 on worm trailing arm ball joint, emissions and brake pads.
Passed 3 days later, no advisories.
