hey guys and gals

The missus's got a 2001 X reg escort 1.6 zetec - basically on starting it, it taps quite loudly, it doesn't sound like bottom end knock, more just like a ticking
When it has been driven for a couple of minutes tho it disappears.

I have been told that it could be the oil draining out of the hydraulic followers, and that it could be something to do with the non return valve??

The car has ford history, and I have recently done an oil and filter change.

Anyone got any ideas?

they normaly get a sticky tappet when the wrong oil is used

well its got ford history, and i have used 5/30 oil when i did the change last week. What can be done to sort it??

isn't 5/30 too thin for that car? I'd have thought it needed 5/40
