4.5k miles or 6 months. I used to have my cossie serviced twice a year regardless of how many miles I'd done... usually did about 3k a year.

a new evo cost more to run that a new cossie ever did, they just don't make new cossies any more. The cost of running an old cossie which is what they all are is obviously going to be higher than any new equivalent car Redkop

No I wasnt having a laugh, and I was taking into account deprecation as thats part of the running cost (well it is on all the financial calculator software that I currently write for a couple of major car manufacturers anyway!)

Congratulations on what? Someone throwing you a line and you believed it?

I actually do have involvement in the websites of a couple of car companies among other aspects of my job, but only from the point of view of software development for them, such as the financial software I mentioned that im currently lead development engineer for, which among other aspects of it such as being available to the dealers, is also available on the internet, so at least you were slightly correct I dont do data entry and things like that which you seem to have stupidly believed though Lynne .

Dont take my word for it though, Im sure you think that cause you dont like me it must mean that I MUST have a menial job and always have had, lol, as you dont seem to be able to accept otherwise
Tell you what though Lynne why dont you spend a bit of the time you normally spending bitching during your bitter and twisted day looking up my last limited company as that is the easiest way to see the truth, as no doubt you will accuse me of lieing if I tell you anything so believe companies house instead, lol:
Troublefree technology
28 barbers mead
taunton
somerset
ta2 8py

10K a month average income during the time I was contracting through that one, if you think thats what data entry pays love, then thats up to you

Its all held at companies house on record, so will be a piece of cake to confirm or deny, so I have no reason to lie, unlike whoever fed you that line that you were dum enough to believe

It does get somewhat tedious.

The funny thing is, she used to get on fine with me, we used to caht for ages on MSN etc, then one day she was talking about her other half's car, I said something about it being on old technology with using the webber ECU and it would be better off on autronic, and she got all offended, blocked me and has bitched at me at every opportunity since.

I wasnt even particuarly having a go at the car, I am quite interested in trying to get the most from old technology on occasions myself, so I see the appeal, I was just saying that in terms of the actual results you get, he was pissing in the wind really.

Ever since, ive gone from being someone to chat friendly to most days about random shit like she was giving me some great advice about alsations and stuff like that, to now im the spawn of satan

A top secret informant? You've been watching too many films!!

It's quite a well known fact and not secret as far as I know

Lynne, you were the one not naming your source and making it sound like someone had "tipped you off" about my job
(despite the fact on numerous occasions where finance has been mentioned on this forum ive helped out with replies and referred to my job writing financial software, like on dogsmokes thread IIRC)

And see the bit above, where I corrected you? thats the bit that means its NOT a "fact"? No matter how much a bitter and twisted old woman wants it to be
(facts are actually true, where as what you are saying isnt)

And also NO ONE else appears to think the same, well ive certainly never heard it said and ive never said that to anyone as I dont say things that arent true such as that, so thats the bit where its not "well known"

Do you understand that bit yet, or do you still need a hand with it?

You know the way that both Mark Shead and the bloke at your local quickfit "work on cars" thats the same way that an experienced senior development engineer like myself, and a data entry clerk both "work on websites" if you can just grasp the difference, you wont look like such a cunt

What's the matter Chip, don't you like the fact that a lot of people just think you look after a company website. There's no need to feel embarrassed about it.

TBH I don't give a monkeys what you do... why can't you understand... I don't care

Why would I be embarassed that a sad and twisted old woman who always looks for the worst in people is so desperate to "find dirt" on someone that she believes something thats obviously bollocks?

As for all your references to lots of people, and people who told you stuff, please actually name them, or you end up looking like a lieing old hag trying to hide behing lies about other people as well

If I get told something - I neither believe or disbelieve it if it doesn't interest me. I just replied with what I had been told what you do, not whether I believed it or not. You just jumped to that assumption and ploughed in in your pompous way and chose to do an essay and a cv in response. Besides you never clarified in your first reply why an evo was more to run than a cossie and that it was based on depreciation and some software you use.... so my reply 'you're having a laugh' was quite within my rights to question it. Maybe if you had bothered to expand more, I wouldn't have replied. I just informed you what the majority of people I talk to think of you, I'm not speaking for the majority as I'm sure they can speak for themselves if and when the time comes.

Also, I couldn't possibly tell you who it was that told me it first, as so many people have mentioned it in passing and I really can't remember. Perhaps you should do a thread to put people straight about what you actually do

It really is priceless that you spend so much of your life talking about me that you could be in a position where im such a frequent theme for your conversations that lots of people would suddenly start talking to you about what they wrongly guess I do for a living

It must be an exciting group of people you spend your life talking to if they all spend all day talking about what they think some bloke called Chip on the internet they have never met and know nothing about might do for a living
And not just one or two of them, but so many people that you cant even remember who you do and dont talk to about me cause you spend so much time involved in such conversations

On the other hand, I can honestly say that I know no rumours about you or anything about what people think about you, as I dont spend my time talking about you to other people, nor would I bother to listen if they did so to me, as that sort of gossip doesnt interest me in the slightest.

Lynne, the thread you requested is here:
https://passionford.com/forum/viewtopic.php?p=3947806

Now you and all the people you constantly talk to about what I do for a living can all touch base in one please to discuss it, and on this occasion it can actually contain some facts for once not totally innacurate gossip

Generally speaking an Evo WILL cost you more money in the long run than a cossie. How much, depends on how much your going to spend on an evo. The newer the evo, the more you'll lose in a short period of time.

Ok if your comparing a £5k cossie to a £5k evo then they'll probably be similar.

As an example i was looking at evo 6's 18 months ago at £13k. The same cars are now going for around £8k!!! Thats around a £5000 loss in less than 2 years.

If your looking at evo 8's and 9's, especially the top models, then your going to lose thousands of pounds.

yeah but saphs have gone from being 8 k ish 2 years ago to 4 k ish now,

if you find a sort after modle of the evo , say a makanine, youll still pay up to 22k for one.

there deffiantly cheaper to run, as long as you dont go past 350ish bhp.

oil and filter changes can be done at home, the only thing that hast to be done by a spacialist is the ayc fluid change, this needs to be done every 4000 miles iirc, and is 80 ish quid.

or you can get an rs modle which doesnt have ayc.

as long as you dont fuck around with em to much or launch them (if you launch it of the lights, you will change the clutch after three or four launches) will be trouble free motoring
