Looks a nice car, but does being a special edition really make it worth 10k more than a normal E30 m3 evo?

What were the differences between that edition and the Evo model?

A 120,000 mile RS500 isn't worth much more than a good average mileage 3dr...

you never know how desperate he is to sell it???

got a mate who when he buys a new car, puts it up for sale on the freeadds on the net for 1-3k more than hes just bought it for, hes had a few wins doing that.

the bm seller maybe just trying the market, may get a buyer, but not fussed if it sells or not

So you pay 10k for an extra badge on the back and no other differences?

If an RS500 had 120k miles and a normal 3dr Cossie had 50k.. Same price!!.. Would people people really prefer to buy the RS500 because of a badge?? Or sticker

Depends, if the RS500 has had a respray like the M3 has it would be devalued.

Personally it would make no difference to me about the badge, but given the MASSIVE difference in parts prices, then yes i would definately have the rs500, so would just about everyone else, hence the silly prices they still go for.

120K mile rs500 is still a 15K car as far as im aware!

chip - fair point..

maybe a more relaistic situation is.. RS500 120k, for 15k... normal 3dr Cossie with 50k for 8k.. Would you then still go for a RS500?? PERSONALLY I wouldnt, but each to there own apart from Dan, who's Gay

I spent more than 15K on a replica, so dont ask me mate, lol

But yes thats the realistic values of the two cars probably, hence my comment to Phil that it is absolute rubbish to say they are worth the same!

at the end of the day, at that price, it will sell

therefore it's not overpriced.if it was overpriced, he wouldnt be able to sell it everything's worth what people are willing to pay, and people are willing to pay 20k for a car like that.

Way over priced IMO, 120k, full respray, it was also rusty as some point, modified so no longer original, no fucking thanks at that sort of money.

Ive seen this car a few times. TBH I doubt the £20K part. But then Im not in the market for it. I would place it closer to £12-13K

Its (aside from the terrible wheels) actually modified tastefully. The 2.5 conversion is a normal mod as is the carbon Airbox and
an aftermarket (No AFM you see) management (Stu, if you're reading this can you do Alpha N?) 4 Pot Brembos are a nice addition too. I gather its a rebuilt engine and 120K is overall mileage. Though all the susp and cuches have been replaced. So the miles aren't the deciding factor here IMO. Not sure on some of the interior either but its all fairly reversable. Or the fact he filled it up with DIESEL by accident!

Regarding Rust and repairs. Well EVERY pre 1990 car (BMW, Ford or Toyota) will be rusty in some place. Better to have it repaired well as thats always expensive to do.

Nice E30 M3's are pretty rare now. And now sell for more than the E36 M3 Evos (like for like) Modern Classic just like a RS500 or Integrale Evo.

I think you guys are missing the point of a 20k old car.

The person who buys it will have a lot of money, the car won't get used and will probably sit in his garage.

People who buy these cars are not like you or I. They don't have to save and if they do it will be for a month or too while they sell another car.

Its worth whatever someone will pay for it, whether 20k is a lot to you does not mean it is a lot to someone else.

Although I don't think it looks as good as a standard one, nevermind paying 7k more for it.

I'm not 100% sure, but won't 20k buy you a pretty low mileage RS500 thats totally original, never seen paint, probably never seen rain, etc?

For a 20k E30 M3, i'd be expecting low miles, and in near concours condition.

I think it's a lovely car (apart from them queer wheels) but IMO, not worth that sort of money.
