Will it not make it look a little rugged (the edges) if you understand me?

Jigsaw, but cut the plastic from the rear. The jagged edge will be on the inside then

Yep, jigsaw, did my track car windows with one,
you need metal cutting blades though as they are finer toothed than the
normal wood ones
I also put tape on the bottom of the jigsaw so it didn't scratch the surface of the plastic

Cheers

I've got an angle grinder?

The plastic is semi rigid, so quite flexible... ?

bandsaw would be best if you have access to one.

clamp the plastic between a couple of pieces of wood (not only will it stop the plastic from cracking, you'll also get a straight edge), then use a hacksaw, finishing with a file and a bit of wet and dry

Find a Joiners shop and see if they have a TCT fine tooth blade in a circular saw (not portable one) and that will cut it spot on as I do this all the time in my workshop

draw a line a bit bigger than you want to cut
then use a jigsaw
then sand it down a bit more
alternatly, you can use a spoke shave to remove excess material
