Marham quiet place(aircraft apart!!), K.Lynn is not so bad, most of it, as said good and bad, but at least there are police there, they are a rare sight in most of NARFORK!!
They spend most of their time going past Roosie's house, ha ha ha!!
Just be careful anywhere around WISBECH, it really is PIKEY CAPITAL, stand around long enough they will nick the fillings out your teeth!!
It is a very laid back way of life here, there are some ace beaches, HUNSTANTON(nearby) and YARMOUTH, loads of totty too.

Testing the future
i come from a village about 5 miles away from marham.
have a house for sale there with workshop space of you're interested? (i guess not as you mention you have to wait for one to be allocated)
lots of nice little villages around there some of the towns have shit areas, but where doesn't these days. roosie saying lynn is pikey when he lives in thetford is pretty funny
the beaches certainly are not shit north norfolk has a beautiful coast
once you know where you will be living, post up again and we can tell you the good/bad points

property price can vary quite a lot depending on location. some places are popular with townies wanting a place in the country, some with US service personnel at the nearby USAF bases, some with retirement.
some properties have a lot of land so can be expensive. there are a lot of bungalows in the region as land is (was) plentiful
generally, compared to a lot of the country, it's cheap
best have a look on www.rightmove.co.uk

There is a Pikey site in Kings Lynn near the stock car track but saying that its a nice town that doesnt see much trouble, if you do happen to drive through Wisbech where i live ( im not a do-as-u-likey by the way ) make sure you wear a knife proof jacket and dont stop at any red lights

Marham isnt a bad camp tbh Pasty, wich i was posted there instead of Shitty Honington. It is in the sticks a little bit though, only about 15min into Kings Lynn maximum though.
How come you been shafted in last 2 years thought you supposed to get where ever wanted bud?

Origin of the 'Rock Ape' nickname
In the past the nickname 'Rock Ape' has been attributed to their traditional role guarding areas of Gibraltar, but this is not so. The term came into use after an accident in the Western Aden Protectorate in November 1952. Two Regiment officers serving with the APL at Dhala decided to amuse themselves by going out to shoot some of the baboons (locally referred to as "rock apes"). The officers drew rifles and split up to hunt the apes yet in the semi-darkness one of the officers fired at a moving object in the distance. When he reached the target he discovered he had shot the other officer. After emergency treatment Flight Lieutenant Mason survived to return to service a few months later. When asked why he had fired at his friend by a board of inquiry the officer replied that his target had 'looked just like a rock ape' in the half light. The remark soon reverberated around the RAF and it was not long before the term was in general use.

As said you get good and bad in all, but as nash says some don't know how to turn off.
Some freinds got a bollcoking for riding their mini motos around the airfiled, not even an active airfiled either(air amb apart), 2RTR for ya!!

Nash allthough i work with a 20 year sac that has his final tour in for Lyneham and has been posted to brize, buts hes got a trick up his sleeve so as not to go,
he needs to be near here to look after his bees as hes a bee keeper
so even proper final tour of duty people get shafted
