all i can add is that when i tried to get on at around 9.45 last night it just hung there like a picture so i gave up
when i put the post up about prison break after 11 it was quick as normal, a few seconds to load and when posting almost instantanious
i can't do the things ou lot have done but if it's any help and someone can show me how to list them i'll happily give it a go

Whats the max_connections limit set to on the db MySQL server? Have you tried increasing it?

PF is mega slow right NOW..
I've had 2 critical error cannot connect messages, and it's 2-3 minutes to load pages.
