I had some crazy fuck threaten me earlier, basically whilst driving home he was badly tailgaiting so as he flew past i gave him a hoot, and he stopped got out didnt understand i hooted cos he tailgaited and not cos he overtook, and then started the i'll drag you out and kick you head in whilst spitting etc, really crazy bod, but basically because i didnt get out the car and just drove off, he threated to "find me" etc, is that possible? just from the reg plate?

I think you can apply to the DVLA for a cars history and copies of past logbooks as the boy who owned my S1 had done so in the past. It costs about a fiver, but as unbelievable and unsafe as it sounds im fairly certain its possible.

I think if you apply for it through the DVLA you need a specific reason...you cant just say (i.e for me) I want to know where the owner of T*** HVV lives, I know its a Vectra..."well why do you want his address?"..."Because I just do!" ...IIRC that is...

aye, its just shit my wife up really as my wife and kids were in the car at the time, and she got pretty upset so wanted to make sure there was no way he couldrtace the car, as he was shouting off, saying i could not report him the cars not in his name blah blah but he can trace me

If you were in Switzerland, you could go down to VaterShtones and buy a copy of the country's car registry - you have a number plate that stays with you for life, and moves from car to car. All someone has to do is take your number, look in the book and get the name, registered address and phone number of the owner of that plate. Scary huh?

At least this muppet probably doesn't appear to have the patience (or intelligence) to call the DVLA, so I think you're safe. Give him a right hook if he does turn up mind

i hooted him cos the tailgaiting was bad, but it was a single lane with no way to move over, and he was basically driving down the middle of the road, my speed was due to the car in front, (there was a good few cars in front of me, so doing a steady 45-50, there really was no way for me to move out of his way, not that i should have to tho, my hoot was a token hoot at his willingness to nearly hit my car because I was unable to do what? go faster than the car in front?
