Default fao auto electrical gurus

will this switch work in my car?

need it to switch an earth (need it to pass an earth through it when its on i think) not really sure how to word it. it says its for 125v ac to 250v ac but hoping it will work in my car?

any help really appreciated

that will be fine id say, the ratings are the maximum so 12v DC shouldnt be an issue, just be careful what current you pass through it though

although it dosn't state a DC current rating it will be fine for a low current consumption at 12v. what you switching with it.

its for my lc and als. i like the key idea so no fooker can be messing about with it when my backs turned etc.

DC current is MASSIVELY harder on switches than AC current.
As a rough rule it is 10:1, ie a 125Volt AC switch will be ok for 12.5Volt DC at the same amperage, this is what I work to and was given this advice by someone who knows.
