Its time for a new set of shades - ive been using the same Oakley Jackets for years now and fancy a new pair of shades. The main problem with the Oakleys is that they are a pain to drive with, and quite dangerous at times as whatever particular tint they are they tend to hinder vision in particular light - this is ofcourse what you'd expect from shades but i know there are sunglasses out there which are better to drive with.
So any suggestions? Im willing to spend up to £120 max on a set, which i plan to last a long time. I believe pilots swear by a particular type of shades (my mate has always used them for both flying and driving) but i can't remember what they are called - must check with him.
Any suggestions?

I have a couple of pairs of Oakleys, a pair fo Raybans and a pair of Police ones and the Police are the best for driving for me. The Oakleys are good but I prefer the look of the other ones.

I could do with a new pair of sunnies for driving my car and while driving trains at work aswell.
Only problem is, they have to meet spec GO/RT3251 or
BS3405 Shade 2.5 (19% to 43% light transmission) with a neutral grey tone
Anyone got any ideas?

The ones my mate suggested were Serengetti ones - that have a dark tint on the top havlf of the lense, gradually getting lighter nearer the bottom so that he can read the instrumentation easily - be it on car or aircraft.
Hes now also suggested against polarised lenses due to them taking a bit of time to change their shade - which ofcourse during driving conditions - out of a tunnel and into direct sunlight - hindering your vision for a few seconds.
Anyone got any experience with Serengetti's

I used to have Oakley Jeckets until 2-3years ago.
I now use the Oakley wire frame versions (simple oval shape) and i must say that the quality of the lenses is just great. No distortion no nothing.
Also just the right amount of shading to stop you getting a headache, but not enough that you cant see the dash at all.
Not so good with my SPV phone touch screen phone, or my portable sat nav system - but i think this is an LCD TFT screen issue more than my glasses.

Some sort of apparatus that can hold dark glass in front of your eyes, but will not affect your vision should do it!
