personally I think people that sit behind a keyboard and basically call an established businesses name into dispute without knowing the full story is plain fucking stupid, but I guess thats just me

"i have said that 200 is as much as i would push a std one with out knowing the engine"

this to me sounds like a sensible statement???

mind you I guess it's a bit like the idiot of here who told me TurboSystem's were ripping me off saying it took an hour to fit a strutbrace, apparently its a 10 minute job

ive asked him all again what i have said on here to make sure ive said everything right and he agreed you also told his mate the same thing that a 1.6 cvh turbo can only make 190- 200 bhp what evers its had done to it

but thats not the subject we are on about why does he need another block when the block he as will be fine for 300 bhp ?

I have just read all of this and from what i can see this post is mostly been replied to in either a sensable manor by people who now what they are talking about or by mis informed idiots who neither have got any where near all the facts or are just key board warriors who have nothing better to do than to jump on the band wagon and spout utter shit . I KNOW THE CAR AND HAVE MET THE LAD IN QUESION, he is going answer in his own time, but he was the one that request the cgi block, not a black top stupid and in fairness i dont think 700 pound for a cgi block is bad, and ok you may not need cgi at this power but why the fuck not if you want one.

As for a grand for rods ffs it was less than that for the rods and pistons. If this post was started by a mate of his he must think he is pretty stupid.

I have know Gordon along time, and i have never know him to rip anybody off but he has had a few idiots in over the years who believe everything they are told and believe you can have big power with out all the other mod that go along or those who turn up for a set up expecting him to work majic with a turd .

This is his life and livelyhood so why dont the people who have nothing better to do than sully a mans business with out the fact step away from the key board and nip out and get a fucking life. cheers all

This is enough to make anyone walk away.

Tim and C+B both over 300 horse 1.6 cvh.

Incidently 240 is max on standard 1.6cvh bottom end... but its a time bomb waiting to happen- rods dont like more than that and they need to rev to do it... which is when they exit the block without the piston.

220 is safer. All flywheel.

When Stu H see's this he might be able to comment as he's just spent 10k with Karl on his car- 2.1 ZVH about 300 horses in real terms... I think it did 270ish recently on the rollers having only just been run in.

With ZVH's I think the Head gasket is the weak point once you've sorted the rods and pistons out.

Jake

Stu h spent 10k are you sure i thought most of the work was done by the Previous owner, and karl sorted out a few problems and mapped but i could be wrong.

I have exagerated the amount a bit.... as I wasn't sure how close it was.

BUT

Karl did not sort " a few " problems and map it... there was significantly more involved- I dont know exactly what but I think off the top of my head bar the rods its all new.

Cossie management and a clutch for a start...
I could be wrong but i think Karl did a bit more than you think he basically

rebuilt the whole engine cos whoever did it before made a right mash of it

I totally agree.

We held a rolling road day at Street Racers and Gordon seemed to know his stuff.

Considering how many crap rs turbos there are lurking about I cant blame him for not wanting to go above 200 on a unknown engine.

Everyones happy with big power until it goes wrong then the tuner is a dickhead, thats why sensibly plenty of tuners wont go near sheds and rightly so imo

and they aint alot of cash for a built engine either if you ignore the exchange

Think the full story needs to be heard from both sides, why do people jump in with two feet having a go at street racers when theyve not heard the full story.

This really fucks me off sumtimes let the guy explain!

Coming from a totally un-biased opinion, not met either.

And why have a pop at the name? Not your fukin company is it

Ginge, that is the price for a bare CGI block (£600-700)

a CGI is what the WRC focus runs, its not your standard Zetec block, its much better.

i belive sunny is now using one of these too, and his aint gonna be shy on power

and stop banging on about prices you fucking idiots the guy runs a business and he can charge what the fuck he wants to, and I doubt whether a tuning company would be in business for 3 years + by charging over inflated prices, mind you GGR have been doing it for years so that might not be true

What have I got to do to make you love me
What have I got to do to make you care
What do I do when lightning strikes me
And I wake to find that you're not there
What do I do to make you want me
What have I got to do to be heard
What do I say when it's all over
And sorry seems to be the hardest word

Whats a CGI block when its at home? what does CGI stand for, and I take it its a development of a zetec block?

And personally I really don't see the point in tuning the nuts off a FWD car anyway, times are never that impressive, as most of the power goes to shredding the front tyres -Just my opinion of course..

It was on DTA, so he's changed to L8 I assume...

This is why I went RWD, I didnt want to fork out this kinda money for it to go through the front wheels

At some of the price quoted on here

I have just had a full blown zetec built by ian howell speced for 400bhp and imo he is the best in the business for zetec/zvh builds (just look at the monsters that have been built by him) and his prices are no where near any of the above!! lol So i suggest if any one wants an engine built by the best for reasonable money and not get there pants pulled down to go see him as he is doing it full time now to lol
