I would but it would need to be a manual. And they're a lot harder to find.

Don't expect them to handle like a cossie though. Great in a straight line, but to get them shifting on the corners you need balls of steel

As with all things jap, the dashboard is very dreary to look at....

If your going for big power tho i'd suggest an auto, gearboxes are supposed to be far stronger

Neighbour years ago had one, great for engine experience as got a nasty habit of popping headgaskets, and bloody expensive when they do.
Lovely car, if it is someone else's, well lardy and slow, rated at 320 maybe but not in truth, a stage one cos will eat it easy.
More a tourer than a bad boy car, T top is worth searching out, gearbox VERY good on manual, auto not really any quicker than a std cos, if that.

apparently if you take the twin turbo's off and fit one big one, 500 bhp is easily obtainable! but you HAVE to dump the auto box and go manual!!

autos are good to 550 reliably, 600 for manual,

uk cars are better spec and have slghtly more power out of the box, jap modles have ceramic turbos and less lag (and plastic head lights )

id deffinatly have one, stage one is Ł980 and gives you 400bhp and 400ft turque,

and im pretty sure they out handle a cossie as standard,
most things do,

fuck me you lot have got your blinkers on

they are an arse to work on though, i like them, old bois getting one to sit next to the skyline lol

one thing for sure if you buy one is that you wont have the bonnet open as often as a cossie. good old jap reliabilty ,rust will probably kill it before mechanical failure does. i had the older model and in over 3 years the only thing to fail was the alternator

Decent cars, dont feel any bigger than a saff when driving them I think, as sit nice and low.
And performance wise, if you want stupid power, its the car to go for.

Go here, click on the names/numbers on the left, all cars with that proven power at the wheels, with graphs to match.

and bearing in mind they dont rust and the stock bottomend can do over 1000bhp, that could take a while

dreary dash? compared to a RST or Cossie?

And they not super light, but not super heavy, 1500kg odd, and will out handle your average "slam it on the deck, bruv" cossie.

ABSOLUTE BOLLOX!!!!

far better sports cars than a Cossie!!

A Standard AUTO one was faster around Bedford than a Lotus Espirit V8 Turbo when tested by Autocar magazine!

Supras are great cars. Look good, great mechanicals, well built, handle, strong as fook, really comfy and outrageous value for money

Personally I think they feel very weighty.

Quick cars no doubt, but I found there was a real weight behind them, and at speed, iit really transferred into that runaway train feeling.

Do like em, but they just don't really do anything for me looks wise, as most modded ones look like the worst examples of over modified Jap styling.

Saw one at ace cafe one night, turbos were the size of dustbins on the front of the engine bay it had a stainless steel plaque on it which quoted 750 bhp i bet that was scary in the wet

Ford man through and through me, never been in or driven one but I know they are capable of being made silly quick

ps and a pain in the rumpus to work on.
There are two different shapes Tab, the onlder one MK3 had a serious issue with headgaskets.

The mk4 shape had no such issues, and would very much munch a stage 1 cossie, possibly as far as a standard mk4 supra auto driven properly will keep up with a stage 3 cossie. Although I will probably get shot down in flames for that!

But agree they are a pain the arse to work on!

Was Tabetha talking about a Mk3???

I knew something was up when he was saying a stage 1 cos would eat one!!!

Starvos I had a look through that link

I love the fact there are loads of cars with circa 1000bhp with standard brakes and gearboxes

Wicked cars

So to summarise.... your mate bought a car without any known history... that would have been 1000% clocked, that was mapped for wrong fuel and you are surprised it blew up????

Supra has a great engine. The end.

Can you imagine how long a bodged up, poorly maintained and thrashed to death 100,000 mile Cossie engine would last if is was exported to a Country with 88ron Fuel and given to a complete twat who knows nothing about cars????

5 mins?? 10 mins???

then bck in Feb was helping a guy out he had 500 at the wheels auto on street tyres (mickey thomsons) after we got in boosting (without throwing boost pipes off) he did a 10.9 ON LOW BOOST apparently the quickest street supra

also know someone thats just sold his 900brake manual one

and it was the CRD supra that turned me into a petrol head, standing next to something with a 1000bhp.........MENTAL, mind you one with half the power is just as quick ...and doesnt twist propshafts

still totally lost intrest in them whats the point in all that power if youve got to wait for the turbo to spool in which time a mk1 escort with 150 at the wheels is allready drawing level with you at the finish

so in conclusion to all my ramblings if i had 7k to buy a supra........id buy an escort stick a lairy pinto in it spend the rest on suspension and what not and run 13's with alot less power

but yes supras are cool........as long as you dont put horrendeous body kits/wheels on them.......keep em standard FTW

Not sure if this will work, as this is the first time I've linked a video up.

That rev counter in the skyline flicks very quickly.

Quick Reply: toyota supra would you have one??
