Default Painting my AP calipers - which paint?

I'm refurbing my ap's at the mo. Only got round to cleaning them up as when we went to bleed the brakes 2 bleed nipples snapped, 1 rounded and 1 already missing

Used the time to scrub the shitty mess back to bare metal and they look great now and ready for paint.

So which kind of paint? Anything special for high temp?

I was going to do it with a brush, will this give a reasonable finish?

Anything to paint on top to protect?

cheers

Mine were painted professionally, using normal paint and have stood the last 4 years and still look like new.

as they are alloy, they don't get too hot tbh. I just used normal double concentrate satin black aerosol's and put plenty of coats on. They came up like new and still look mint.

Ah ok cheers boys. I guessed they might need special paint.

I'm painting them on the car so was gonna use a brush as it looks like way too much work to mask shit off to spray it

foliatec do a proper caliper paint in various colours (black is obviously the most tasteful) that is a 2 pack heat resistant one that comes with a brush and gives a good smooth, glossy finish if the caliper is well prepared. i think cleaner is also included in the kit

You can also get them ceramic coated. Mine cost around $120 (around 45 quid) in cast iron grey and had the ALCON symbol masked. I'm fussy when it comes to this, but I heard the hi temp spray paint in cans work well (foilatec, VHT etc)
