I wouldn't be happy if someone shot my cat. My girlfriends cat is a tabby cat and is about the size of a small dog. I'm preyty sure if you tried to shoot it you would come out worse off. It's a fucking monster.

indeed. i was always paranoid when my rott pup was out in the garden alone, but now hes 12months and he's a big scary thing now.

why all these people keep saying things like 'if you did that i would pay you a visit' do you never think that the person who hurt your cat might be able to trade punches back

imagine your a cat, and a person is coming towards you to pick you up, to play, but to you its a giant, you'ed defend yourself, like my cousin has 4 cats and whenever i go to pick one of them up it scratches me, face, arms, hand ect but would i shoot it, NO!

I have 3 cats and have grown up with 1 too at my parents place. The neighbour back in the UK hated them but would just shoo it out of the garden or throw something near it like a cork. That way it doesnt harm it but just frightens it.

I live in an apartment so mine just wander the balcony and thats it.

Jesus christ, panic, theres a little cat in my garden - Hardly the panic of the year is it?? You lot need to get a life and stop worrying about such trivial things, and if you shot a cat you are A) very sad and have issues, and B) likely to end up getting done bythe RSPCA for cruelty....

The people who go on about cats coming into thier houses and "attacking" is bollox as well, a loud shout and a fast movement and a cat is gone. Cats are free roaming so therefore LEGALLY allowed to go where they like, and DOGS are not, and have to be controlled, due to their nature, And a dog is far far far more of a threat to a small child than a cat, as has been proven recently by all the chav-scumbag owners who can't look after thier animals properly and let them tear kids to shreds ....

I like cats and dogs, and I find that if you treat animals well they don't hurt you, i never get scratched by a cat, perhaps if you are kind to them they don't feel threatened?? Same with dogs, just give them a bit of fuss and they are fine 99% of the time. Of course there are exceptions to the rules, but there is with anything in life.....

So, the short answer is grow up and find a humane method of stopping the cat if it REALLY bothers you that much

Unfortunately a neighbour of ours shot one of our cats with an air rifle, however we couldnt prove it so nothing could be done about it which was a shame as the bullet touched the cats spine and paralyzed its back end which meant that the first we new about it was when the cat was miaowing its head off as it obviously couldnt jump the fence to get home that night, it had to drag its legs behind him after this and couldnt go to the toilet by itself as it had no control over its bladder - needless to say it had to get put down shortly after as this was no kind of life for the our poor cat - I was about 13 when this happened and it has to of been one of the saddest moments of my life. I said goodbye to it one morning before school, and it pissed down my shirt - he wasnt there when I got home.

I'd quite happily of liked to of seen the bastard neighbour get shot in the back & seen how he'd liked to have been paralyzed for the rest of his life, pissing & shitting himself - no difference between humans & animals where this kind of thing is concerned!!!!

Its all opinions. I hfucking hate cats even though my miss' brought one lsat week. i've shot squirrels in my old garden etc but i wouldnt a cat. it would get a boot though if it was found craping in my garden....! But i cant say i would shoot it as however annoying it is its someones pet.

If you're going to shoot anyone, shoot the owner for buying the cat. It's not the cats fault somebody brought it home.

Luckily, ours is too old and lazy to venture far and just sits on the windowsill waiting to come in, then sitting on the windowsill waiting to go out. It also only wants to poo indoors in its litter tray as it's warm, it doesn't have to touch mud and dig it up... plus some lucky person (not me, might I add) comes and clears it up and puts fresh litter in there. Liberty taking bloody animal.

However if anybody shot my cat, the same way as if anybody shot any other member of my family, I'd quite happily do it back...

No excuse for animal cruelty. Orange peel is free...or get your own cat, they never poo in their own garden and put others off. Nothing will come in our garden as my cat and the random stray that comes to sit with it just scowl at them..

my granpa's cat is a free roaming thing, he goes where he likes and also takes a dump in his own back garden

Theres a random stray cat, lovely thing so it is, just wanders between my next door neighbour and my aunts house, neighbour has 2 dogs and its not scared of them, and my aunts got 2 cats and its not bothered with them either, its even walked into my house as well,

Shooting them is wrong though, scare them away but theres no reason for violence.

They are funny though, my aunts 2 cats have been together from birth, couple of weeks ago fred was sitting in the garden and barney came waling up and sat beside him, for now reason fred turned round and gave barney a smack on the chin, barney turned and looked at him with a "what was that for" look and hit him in the chin back
