engine conversion...few questions please..need some help
what are the 1.8 xr3i zetec engine out the escort?
same for the 2.0 mondeo zetec?
which one is better?
how much power for each, quite easily?
how much to buy a decent one?
how hard they to fit (mk4 escort)
also does anyone know what they are like on fuel?
ive got a 1.6 cvh fitted now with a few mods (4 branch and exhaust)
would there be much difference in power?
does anyone know that the mpg are on the 1.6 cvh?
would be great if someone could spare a few mins..
cheers

PassionFord Post Whore!!
The XR3i 1.8 Zetec is 130bhp IIRC
The 2.0 in a mondeo is 130bhp
No difference.
They are cheap as chips the Silver Top Zetecs, black tops out of the later cars command a little bit more.
What power is your CVH ? 90-100bhp ?
You could find the 130 by just fitting an RS Turbo motor

what are the 1.8 xr3i zetec engine out the escort?
105 and 130 bhp models, obviously 130 is the one you want
same for the 2.0 mondeo zetec?
dont know other than the extra capacity and the aternators at the back
which one is better?
doesnt matter both same power and same to fit, 2.0 just needs a few things swapping
how much power for each, quite easily?
as above
how much to buy a decent one?
proberbly around 100 - 150
how hard they to fit (mk4 escort)
the 105 will fit directly on your gearbox and just need to modify engine mount
the 130s require a cvh efi flywheel and clucth, the holes need srilling out bigger slightly to fit on zetec, need to have a modifed exhaust
also does anyone know what they are like on fuel?
as anything all depends on how you drive them, but they dont have any fuel adjustment on them its all ecu controlled and closed loop
ive got a 1.6 cvh fitted now with a few mods (4 branch and exhaust)
would there be much difference in power?
yes, the zetec will proved more took and by fitting it you will have already gained around 30bhp
does anyone know that the mpg are on the 1.6 cvh?
no

How about a nice RS2000 Mk5/6 engine? L4, strong as old boots, cam chain, 150BHP out the box, can pic up a shagged RS2000 for Ł600+ now, and they have lots of nice kit on them
