Apex 500+BHP RWD Skyline vs APT 600+BHP Evo!

I was genuinley scared watching the rivalry between Bren and Gary that day. Seeing Gary nailed to Bren's bumper down the start/finish straight, knowing that Gary would not have given up until he knew he had done all he could to get past really was quite concerning!!

Fixing the bloody car...
Sweet
I always thought my next car would be an Escort Cossie, but everytime I see Gary's Evo I'm tempted to get one...
...when I finally decide to stop spending £££'s on my rust bucket!

10K+ Poster!!
was the evo really pushing it on the bends?
Wouldnt have thought the skyline would have kept up...
Bren looks handy behind the wheel anyway
Is it me or are all skyline laggy as fook?

Thats another vid to go in the "see, drift cars do handle" folder.
The GTST seemed laggy, but maybe it was the vid (as its impossible to tell throttle position etc in a vid) or the way he was driving it, as that turbo isnt too bad on a RB25 in my experience, and in Rd1 of EDC and Japfest on Sat it seems responsive enough.
Well, it has to be for drifting.

Quality fun video
Skyline looked like it was longer geared than the evo and therefore caught out coming out of the slower bends.
Both drivers driving hard.
Skyline looked nicely controlable (and well done Bren) coming out of the bends with the fun drifts.
Enjoyed watching that!

i was told, a 400bhp evo woul beat a 500 bhp skyline, but may just be hype

totally bizzare statement, can only say somethings laggy or not as a generalisation about standard cars, and thats far from a standard car.
and whoever told you the 400 vs 500 thing is massivley generalising too, beat how? what spec? what skylines? etc.

sorry, ill elaborate,
old mans got a r33, i think that its laggy, doesnt really have any poke low down ( feels pretty shite tbh) and then comes on boost and goes spastic,
now, i think this is down to bad mapping, so its just gone in for 2 new 2860 rs turbos, and a apexi fc ecu.
and the statement with regards to the evo, it was a evo 6 rs, and a r33 gtr

2860s are good for about 700bhp, that on a 2.6litre badly mapped car isnt never going to be instant, but ive been in cars with them on and with the right spec theres still good get up n go from about 3grand.
lag (well, boost threshold) depends a lot on cams and mapping, and with so many cars running stupid duration cams and spacca mapping, i can see why lots are laggy.
its not the car is a laggy car for its engine size, its the spec.
the evo6 rs vs r33 gts thing is still a bit vauge (allthough now we have the lightest evo by far versus a heavy GTR so obv a disadvantage in that way).
my opinions are i dont like skylines, not cause they bad, they awesome, but i just dont.
r33s dont feel too heavy, feel ok for their size, but they are big cars, they dont try to be anything else.
but that vid shows even a RWD GTST can be pretty handy...

ill give my self a
didnt actually wach the video,
the car has just had the turbos fitted,
it was on standards before,
and tbh there werent much power before 4grand,
i agree with you, i personally prefere the likes of an evo 4, or a s14 or s15,
think the the liner is a very big wide car,
and i understand the obviouse weight disadvantage lol
hows your r32 comming now?
