hi, just on a disscusion on MLR about what diiff peeps are paying for tax ,it seems imports might pay more, im paying £99.00 for 6 months or £180 for 12 months on my imported EVO 3 .. it could end up in the silly 300 to 400 bracket

So any age performance car with high emissions that is now imported would have to pay the new road tax rates, regardless of its age as it goes on date registered in the UK.

Glad I've got a Type UK Impreza, costs me £210 a year to tax.

Same here, I paid £190 the end of February for the full year. I believe after the announcements from Gordon Brown, its gone up to £205(?) and £210 next year.

Band G is any car registered after 31st March 2006. BUT, from that link, it appears any performance car import above 225G/Km will be hammered for Band G car tax, irrespective of age if its registered in the UK from now on.
