The power output of a F1 is good but not spectacular when you look at bikes but they too have no torque, in comparison to their bhp.
Look at a civic type r torque it is crap, and on the road a cossie walks all over it at the same bhp, thatv is why you don't see bike engines such as busa being put into cars other than light weight ones, kit cars etc.

Agree but surely having around 785bhp in a 2.4 N/A engine is a lot more impressive than most tuned motorbikes? (Based on the 056 ferrari engine - I know sod all about bikes also so don't slate me )

another simple pushrod engine that can be good for power is the 1.4 renault 5 engine, i built an engine for a mate who wanted n/a power, 285c cam, high comp pistons, ported head, lightened and balanced crank, flywheel, twin carbs, the works really, and at 1397c it produced 147bhp which i was impressed with, but saying that a turbod version has now produced nearly 400bhp so kind of makes it look a bit slow

Same mini??

OK so the mini last year had a 6.2L chevy small block (built from scratch by Nathan) with 6 speed dodge viper box. It ran a 11.1 sec quarter then ran into trouble.. nathan was not having this so he ripped it all out and built a fresh lump (race breed) 7.2L this time, Dart block and Brodix heads with FB performance Trans Brake, Auto stooling box. This sh!t is something else..

So we did an all nighter to get the mini running wknd before last and it was taken on the London to Brighton Mini run on sunday.. check it out!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=csIJr31yPWA Blip the throttle and listen to it sing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=taNFxZ-ZfrA Its 8am, exhausts are on and time to test run.

it was the Yellow V8 powered one. 6.2 litre chevy small block with dodge viper 6 speed box, and rear wheel drive

Anyway.. Nathan was only able to run a 11.2 sec quarter which he was not happy about.. so out came the engine and was sold.. then time to build a new one! all steel internals.. 15k's worth of V8 built from a bare block! Auto stooling auto gearbox.. this baby is gonna fly!!! some pics

we just trial fitted the engine to check for exhaust manifold clearances its coming back out to be dyno'd and should be 600bhp out of the box! Oh and i forgot to add.. one of the other reasons the engine was changed was because the nutter is using 100bhp progressive nitrous boost
