Default xr4x4/cosworth rear brakes/hubs whats diferent?

hi all,

i'm looking to make a 260mm vented rear brake setup for a kit car, i need to know what's different with the cosworth and xr4x4 rear ends? is it the caliper carriers, or the hub assembley?

i'm wondering if i can use a xr4x4 hub with a 4x4 cossie caliper to make my 260mm vented setup.

any ideas?

The hub mounts for the caliper on the xr4x4 are slightly lower than the cosworth ones to allow for the slightly smaller rear disc

Calipers from the xr4x4 are the same as 2wd cosworth ones

I have a pair of brand new 260mm rear discs, and a pair of new xr4x4 bearing carriers with new bearings and seals for sale if interrested

I also have the hub faces, and half shafts to suit - all like new

also have a used pair of calipers to suit

Any use to you, can send a pic if you want

edited to say - as the 2wd and 4x4 calipers are the same apart from the depth of disc space in the carrier- then the combination you mention would work

No as the offsets and disc thickness is different:
2wd cossie 278mm x 10mm solid
4x4 XR uses a 257mm x10mm solid
4x4 cossie is 278mm x 20mm vented

Hubs are different to allow bigger discs on cossie 2wd and 4x4 same hub
calipers for xr and 2wd cos are the same,4x4 cos have bigger cals and carriers to allow vented disc

hope the helps u
