Why dont you get panaracers? honestly, they are THAT good. I can supply you these, and some V8's too. Up to you though mate.

i could do the tires for £40 a pair (bearing in mind they are folding, and not wire bead), and the pedals for £20.

That's a good deal. Can't go wrong with Panaracers.
