right about a month ago 3 of my friends got involved in a fight with a much older person in a high street where there are many CCTV camera that watch you anywhere you go. basically it started by the older bloke (34) giving it all the mouth to us and kicked off from there, it lasted a minute or so if that. a few of us did not get involved as we knew there was cameras around so we stayed back.

now obviously they were arrested and had there first court hearing in a magistrate court 2 weeks ago, first it was found as common assault but it got upgraded to ABH. it now has to go to the crown court now in woolwich or somewhere else i cant remember. .now in the statements the guy went to hospital and admitted himself out straight away without being looked at, and this is in the police statement now, when i saw this the guy he walked off ok to me, but he mentioned that he woke up in a ambulance?? lie

if found all guilty for some reason, what time will they be looking at inside? or community service? one has never been arrested before, the other was arrested about 5 years ago for a petty incident and the other has been arrested not long ago.

i've got abh on my record, but only as a minor and i was told to pay £100 fine plus £50 compo
but this is going back nearly 20 years

now it could be anything from a slap on the wrist to life depending on what mood the judge is in on the day in question

i was up before magistrates if that makes any difference

My sister was sent down for 4 years last year for 2 counts of abh, release on tag in 18 months tho.

If abh don't book any holidays any time soon.
Don't forget the government,cps and police are all chasing their targets now and 'easily solvable' crimes like this will attract those 'look people we are
doing something about violent crime' sentences.

all depends if you have been in front of the courts before and for what
if not you will be ok if they have it will go against them and it could get nasty

Total fucking lottery.

Its been upgraded to crown court no doubt because there is the potential for more than 6 months inside, so a magistrate cant deal with it.

I expect they will each get a slightly different sentance based on their previous history though, the first offended I would be surprised if he gets more than community service.

I reckon they'll get fines & suspended sentences as the prisons are "over crowded" & they're letting serious offenders out early

I got a caution for ABH about two years ago. It's gonna come off my record when i'm 18 though! I didn't have to go to court for it?

hope they get what they deserve, its not appropiate to start assulting people even if they are giving it all the mouth to us and having a disagreement. As the majority all appear to have prior experience with the law they are not obviously learning so perhaps need something more harsh

Unfortunately this is England so i doubt much more than community service will be expected

the have got the plea on the 27th june. according to the police they have lost the cctv footage though.
