Default MP3 to CD Help

Am i right in thinking if you convert your music to mp3 you can get more songs on to one CD? or am i talking ballbags?

If yes why has the 1st song i converted gone from (WMA file) 6.08MB to (mp3 file) 9.06MB surely thats going up isnt it and will have less songs on

Am i doing something wrong?

If so whats a good FREE programme to use to convert my music so i can burn more songs on to a cd.

Or any tips

thanks

yes it means you can get more than one album on a disc, as it changes it into data...

if your copying from a cd to media player then you can simply change the settings to mp3 from wma before you write them

if your copying from hard drive to disc, the easiest way imo is once theyre in the correct format (mp3) to insert blank disc, and open writeable folder, then drag and drop what you want from wherever you keep the files into the open folder and copy it that way without using media player or any other associated programme

what are you using to convert it?

WMA has a much better compression algorithm than mp3, which to be honest, is a pretty shitty format.

If you converted an audio CD (WAV format), then you would see the file sizes come down quite a lot, but because its WMA, converting to mp3 is always going to make them bigger.

Still get more on a CD than a standard audio disk though.

Cheers

Aye not bad, but won't make any difference to what you are trying to do though
