The recipe is easy: Mix the Isopropyl alcohol and distilled water in equal parts (50/50) inside an empty Windex-like bottle. Do not use tap water! Doing so will leave white smears on your screen after cleaning it up because of the dissolved minerals inside the water. When finished mixing, just close the bottle using the "spray" adaptor that comes attached to it.

Next, you will need to find a good, soft piece of microfiber clothto clean your display. Avoid paper tissues at all cost! Using those on your screen would be just like scrubbing sandpaper on it and may scratch it permanently. You wouldn't want to do that right?

Now that we have everything we need, start by turning off your screen. Dampen your piece of soft cloth with your cleaning mixture and then wipe the display gently from top to bottom. Never spray liquid directly onto the LCD. When you're done, wait a few minutes to let your screen dry, and then turn it back on. Voila, you're done! Your screen should now be sparkling clean.

And if you absolutely want to use a product that was specifically made to clean LCD screens, PixelClean makes an excellent LCD cleanerthat is quite effective and not too expensive.

i wouldnt put any household materials on a pc/tv lcd screen.

I use Fellowes wet and dry screen wipes from Staples, they do the trick on my pc screen, i havent had my 32" HD lcd long enough to clean it though but id use these for that too

Q: I have a new LCD television, and I'm not sure how to clean it. With my old tube set, I just spritzed it with Windex, but the surface of my new TV isn't glass.

A: "We recommend using LCD cleanser that can be purchased at any electronics store," says a customer service tech for Westinghouse, a manufacturer of popular LCD televisions. The cleaner can be found in both spray and wipe form. But what exactly goes into these LCD solutions?

They have skin care additives which will harm the screen.

Very Very bored. My girlfriend was meant to be meeting me at my house and I am under strict instructions not to go the gym without her. She said she would be here at half 2.

Keep the Mr Sheen in the cupboard.
Always clean the LCD screen with the special wipes available from computer stores for this purpose. Never use ordinary polish or press too hard on the screen as, unlike conventional glass TV screens, you may cause serious damage.

just go to any pc store(like staples as above) and buy the Fellowes wet n dry wipes, at least then you know for sure it wont damage the screen because it says "for lcd screens" on the packet

My advice to you is to stop creating dirt and dust and these problems will never occur in the future. Or as that's close to impossible just become a lazy slob like me and don't clean the screen full stop.

I suppose when they see there favourite cartoon they have to slap the television to let them know there watching. I've noticed a newphew of mine does it to Dorah The Explorer.

Tesco brand glass cleaner. Put a bit on a cloth, not directly onto the screen though! Leave 10 seconds and buff off.

No problems, I repair laptops for a living and you want to see the mess some of them arrive in..!!

Never had a problem with that.

SassyRS
when i got mt LCD i read the instructions and it says to flick a little water or use an atomiser to spray water onto the fine cloth that comes with it and clean it in a square motion working your way towards the inside.
it works a treat for me and gets little grubby kids prints off
beats putting any chemicals on it and always gets the toughest of grime off mine
