You also need a remote thermostat housing - I made mine using a Cologne 2.9i v6 housing modified to mate to the original thermostat housing and another Cologne 2.9i v6 thermostat housing to take the feed off the back of the head

Get a scorpio 2.0 head, and run the RS2000 cams e.t.c, the thermostat housing is on the front then as its a longitude engine as standard

Or do as Gracey

Scorpio inlet won't fir the rs2000 head as the coolant channel has not been ported for rwd on the rs2k head

some people say that the scoprio and rs2k cams are the same..................................

but there is a 2.3 complete just down the road from me at a scrapyard who'll pull it out for you for Ł250

be aware that if you go 2.3 the flywheel and clutch are totaly different to the 2.0 versions, and trying to find a manual 2.3 is a bit tricky

been there, done that, taken it apart, offered adivce to jim regarding bolting the 8V head on etc etc

Graceland but you did away with all that and just bolted a cossie inlet to yours didn't you

Cams are different on RS2000 and a Scorpio 2.0, i cant remember the diffrences, but i t was one of the reasons a scorpio was 136bhp and a RS200 was 150bhp

Jase, I think the cams are the same mate.

The RS2000 I4 block uses the same flat-topped pistons as the Sierra DOHC, whereas the Scorpio 2.0 uses dished pistons to lower the CR down to something like 9.5:1.

Also the RS injectors are 255cc items compared to the Scorpio's 191cc.

Given the above and the fact that the RS has a better (tubular) exhaust manifold compared to the scorp's cast item, and a more aggressively-mapped ECU, I think that could go a fair way to accounting for the differences in output - the engines are basically identical apart from the pistons IIRC.
