problems watching dvds

just installed windows service pack 2, now i cant watch dvds anymore, theres sound but no picture, should i just uninstall it? or does anybody know how to solve it

media player doesnt work, just keep getting errors
got windvd5, sound works but no picture, picture flickers when i shut the window
both programs were working fine before i installed windows service pack2

Could download and try Media Player 10.
WinDVD could be a Direct X issue. Could try and download the latest Direct X. Fixed my issue with that.

I put sp2 on mine and my mums pc no probs. My brothers Tiny pc ended up needing a complete reinstall because it wouldn't boot up.
What error message do you get? It could be a codec issue, unless sp2 has messed with a driver for something. I had a problem that I cured by uninstalling the codecs I had installed. It might be worth trying that if you've installed any. Keep the origionals handy for a reinstall if you need them
