my plan is to:-

fifth injector set up (any ideas where from will help)
about 9 psi
intercooler
and spacer not very big between to head gaskets to lower compression
ive got 218cc injectors now will i need bigger with the fifth or not
i'm not looking for massive out and out power just something different an slightly more power

The trouble is, if you look at it logically, you need the following:
head with decent flow
bigger injectors
management
manifolds
nice strong bottom end
And the logical answers to those issues are:
Cossie head
Cossie injectors
Cossie management
Cossie manifolds
Cossie pistons and rods and crank
Cause it all bolts straight on!
Anything else you do is just going to be both harder/dearer and worse in most cases!

although its the easier option, the cost of fitting a yb to the car would be quite high as he would need everything ie engine, box, loom, brain, intercooler, rad, pipework, sensors etc it soon adds up when you start from scratch and decent parts are getting hard to get hold of
the idea for fitting a turbo the his current engine came from an article in this months 'practical performance car' magazine about 'factory approved hot rods'. The courtenay turbo manta basically has a spacer plate fitted, a turbo bolted on blowing through an intercooler with a fifth injector adding fuel when the boost (15psi for 230bhp ) and all this was approved by the dealers
i'm not saying that its the best way of doing it but cant see why it would not work, and because the parts needed could be from any turbo charged car he would not need to pay the 'cosworth' premium
lots of good advice on there
got any more details or a number we could get hold of him

dont all the usa sierras run a pinto turbo? and getting stupid power from them?
sure ive seem them use a volvo head on them aswell to go the 16v route instead of cosworth but dont know whats involved
i think its fastmaul who runs a website for usa sierras and theres loads on there with good info
its something different and if done rite good be a very good car
but i think you are going to have cossie crank and rods at least

honestly now,,, your not an engineer,,, its takes time and money to do a conversion which is worth doing!
after a fair bit of money,, you might end up with a nice conversion! but i promise you this,,, it still wont be as good as a standard YB
keep your eyes on freeads and the likes! i bet you could get a YB 2wd engine for 800 quid,
