Jose Mourinho was stripped of his self-appointed status of the special one and became the deluded one as Liverpool visited another Champions League nightmare upon Chelsea.
But it took all of Mourinho's brass neck and some very thick blue-tinted spectacles to sit and declare - without any sign of his tongue drilling a hole in his cheek - "that the best team lost and that Chelsea were truly deserving of a place in the Athens final".
"Chelsea tried to win it in 90 minutes. Chelsea tried to win it in extra time. The best team was the team in blue," he said.

Manager Jose Mourinho said "he felt Chelsea did not deserve their penalty shoot-out defeat against Liverpool in the Champions League semi-final".
"We were the best team today, even against a team only playing for the Champions League."
He added: "In extra-time we were the only team who tried to win, but football is like that and the penalty shoot-out is part of the game.
"I don't need to say more and today I think the best team was Chelsea."
"I saw an enthusiastic atmosphere but I saw one team in blue playing to win. I saw one team in blue wanting to play well".
"They had one good period in the first half but after that the best team was the blue team so I don't think the atmosphere was the cause of anything".

yeh agreed with AJ THE PF GOD he wont be there next season. abramovich has had a few managers in already for interviews. jose will be a loss to our game as he's always entertaining. albeit he does go over the borders at times.

I really fukin hate 'New Chelsea' I hate all they stand for and the way they go about their business. I love it when they lose especially when that twat Mourinho comes on the telly
Although I do feel sorry for the real Chelsea fans, the guys who have followed the team for years, through the old 1st/2nd Division years and the likes. Although it must be great to now be winning things and having a bit of success, but does it not feel a bit hollow, a bit fake?

You KNOW they were better, although Chelsea did play much better possession football...........overall your lot never really looked like scoring.
