Had a 4th floor apartment in spain, was nice, but a bugger when you have to furnish the place as there was no lifts

Jesus christ!

How cheap!

I have an alternative you can rent from me for just over £100 a week. A double car parking space in central London

Not joking.

The problem with that place no doubt is where it is.

Sadly the cliche of "location, location, location" being the 3 things that matter most still holds true, Im sure if most of us moved to there, then we would struggle to find the same sort of work locally that we can in london etc, thats always going to be the main reason for the price difference.

If you work a commutable distance though Gareth, then I reckon you should go for it

Commutable? If it's more than a mile from where he lives now I'll eat my hat..or..I'll buy a hat...and then eat it..

I live in an apartment here which we bought nearly a year ago. We paid a fair bit here but it is one block back from the beach and includes swimming pools and a gym plus security gates and underground parking.

It has appreciated significantly in nearly a year and my prediction is that it will climb a fair bit higher than normal houses as we are in the midst of a drought with only 2 days of garden watering permitted a week (most things are dead as a consequence!).

Choose very carefully though as it is a volatile market is my advice.

Friends have a 23rd floor place on the waters edge that has appreciated 30% in 2 years with floor to ceiling glass but it could quite as easily go back down again as they are almost "fashionable" so depending on the quantity built.

They are everywhere here including Eureka which is the tallest residential tower in the world.

Have you seen what opened today on it, 88th floor "The Edge".

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sto...4-2862,00.html

Have a read of that, they showed pics a little while ago on the news. It slides out to different sounds playing and is frosted. Then when it is fully out if you are not scared to death by the smashing glass sound, it transforms to fully clear as you are 88 storeys above the ground!!

Thanks but no thanks.

Yes, i understand that. Just find it funny that they make the water blue in their prospect. Marketing at its best.
