Euan

Dont use the small SPA rectangular speedometer kit as it's utter junk!!

I use my Road Angel for speed measurement in my Escort... but at times this is also utter junk!

stack or those AIM MXL things, i suppose

Stack are easier to wire i believe, depends what you want, they do a stack st700 that does Revs, Speed, water/oil temp and oil pressure for about £400 ish, then it goes upto as much as you want really, £1k for a st8130 of rainbum.

Aim dashes start at £500 and do pretty much everything but dependent on what management can be porblematic to fit im told

I dont know a lot about them, only what others have said

Not much help, but it gets it to the top again for you

I run a Spa Speedo with the sensor off the back wheel. I find it a brilliant bit of kit and as you say Euan the others are stupid money.

Well out of the 3 I had, every one developed faults. Kept coming up with FFF on the display - had to reset the 1.96m calibration all the time - kept losing its memory, illumination kept going wrong.

The last one I had, I sold it but before I did, sent it back to Spa to have it repaired again. Had it sent direct to the guy who bought it off me (a mate) and surprise surprise it went wrong again - so I gave him his money back and threw it in the bin!!

Not a good experience of this product!!!

Brom will have a look at fitting where you suggest as it looks quite cool

Ian I have had similar probs with my other SPA gauges loosing their memory etc.

I would buy the stack combined rev counter and speedo like Brom talks about but I already have a stack rev counter so seems silly to sell that just to buy another one.

when i had standard brakes on the car i fitted to the inner drive shaft cup and a bracket off the beam but now i have ap 330mm its so much better read out and a easier fit the magnet is on one of the bell bolts and the bracket is fitted to the shock . its very easy to fit , the slightly harder bit wat to set it up to read the correct speed i measured the wheel and tyre but it was still out so i used a gps item to set it up and it is spot on

on the mxl and aim dashes i take it all the gauges etc are accurate?
as it may cost 700 but youd probably get quite a bit back on all your gauges and rev counter.and there also all in clear easy view then aswell
id love something like this in my car http://www.racecarsdirect.com/viewlisting.php?view=8750
but i need alot more than a dash

Will probably set it up on the rollers to ensure its accurate...

I have bells so hopefully it wont be too hard.
