Default Anyone into Martial arts on PF?

As the big boys have got their topic flowing about bodybuilding i thought id see if any peeps were into martial arts?

I did it from being 10 upto about 5 years ago. was a black belt 3rd dan. Setting aside the contact part of it, the fitness side was amazing. Dont i fooking know it now....not so fit anymore. I was into it in a big way, but just lost intrest as i started boozing more etc. Didnt really think much of it until about a week ago my parents brought a box out of their loft with all my old belts in etc....well some are missing.....but it brought back a few memories... dont think ill be getting back into it though.

Anyone or just me ?

and he has done wing chun (however you spell it) and ba gua for the last 20 years and he still teaches now privatly and he is about to take charge of the England youth karate team as well if i remember rightly, i done karate with him and my brother many years ago but as that was all my dad ever done it bored me to tears so now i just help him with whatever training he does in my garage

Our Dave does a mean line in Wing Chun... sounds a bit poncy when you first hear about it but it actually looks quite useful! He's got his next grading soon... he's handy but still fookin' ugly so he must get hit now and again!
I boxed three times a week up until recently when I got beaten up in a club... ain't had the enthusiasm to get up and train again since but I'm getting more eager every day. Was working towards my first ameteur fight at the end of this year, big shame as it's all gone to pot now.
But in the words of Arnie... I'll be back!

Done boxing on and off for 15 years, keep trying other things but always end up back at boxing, done Judo for 3 years and JKD concepts for 3 years.

Boxing is superb for the fitness side of training, but really enjoyed all of them.

Currently boxing again

I train in Kick Boxing a couple of nights a week. Started about 3 years ago.

Do most tournaments locally. Travel to Ireland once a year to a large international competition. Came second this year. Americans win everything!!!!
